About the Role

Trez Capital is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to support the company’s budgeting, planning, forecasting, liquidity management, and financial analysis activities.

Working closely with the Vice President, FP&A and Business Optimization and the Director, Data Analytics, you will contribute to long-range planning, budgeting, liquidity forecasting, and management reporting. You will also develop and monitor key performance indicators that provide meaningful insight into business performance and financial health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted analytical resource and business partner to Portfolio Management, Asset Management, Treasury, Underwriting, and Capital Raising.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes, including preparing budget templates and guidelines and supporting accurate, efficient submissions.
  • Develop and enhance management reports and dashboards that provide clear insights to support Executive Leadership Team decision-making.
  • Oversee the weekly liquidity forecast, coordinate inputs across business functions, and provide insights and conclusions to support management decisions.
  • Assess the profitability and feasibility of products, business lines, and corporate investment initiatives, and develop supporting business cases.
  • Perform financial analysis and modelling for strategic opportunities and M&A transactions.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency through advanced Excel models, Power BI reporting, databases, and automation.
  • Prepare recurring pipeline and origination reporting and assess the liquidity and cash flow impact of new originations and modifications.
  • Maintain portfolio- and fund-level reporting and forecasting models to support Portfolio and Asset Management.
  • Perform other related duties reasonably aligned with the responsibilities and level of the role.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of FP&A experience.
  • CPA, MBA, or CFA designation.
  • Demonstrated experience developing financial models and planning and forecasting tools.
  • Advanced financial modelling skills using Excel and business intelligence reporting tools connected to a data warehouse.
  • Experience developing KPI dashboards, databases, and systems, as well as improving or automating processes.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including experience preparing executive reports and presentations.
  • Commercial real estate industry experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry is considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. The total rewards package also includes:

  • Eligibility for a discretionary bonus
  • Company-sponsored health and dental benefits, with costs shared between the employee and the company
  • Three weeks of annual vacation
  • Company matching of employee RSP contributions up to 5%
