Position Summary

  • Responsible for maintaining customer relationship with ECHO in accordance with the agreement, including the configuration, implementation, maintenance, security, and overall direction of the ECHO Credentialing and Provider Data Management System at all participating SIH Hospitals and Service Organizations. Serving as the main liaison between ECHO and the users of the system, this position will have responsibility for coordination of all ECHO related audit/maintenance procedures, new installs/upgrades, system enhancements, consistent methodology, issue escalation processes, system-wide reporting, special ad hoc reporting, user training, and general assistance.
  • Plans, develops, and organizes the operations of medical staff services to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of the Hospital as well as meeting the requirements of the medical staff bylaws, TJC standards, and other applicabfederal, state, and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management; Healthcare Administrator; Business Administration; Information Systems; Health Informatics; or a related healthcare field

Licenses and Certification

  • CPCS Certification (or become certified within one year of eligibility)
  • CPMSM (or become certified within one year of eligibility)

Experience and Skills

  • Experience: 3-5 years of medical staff services, provider enrollment, or credentialing experience
  • Experience working with medical staff offices; credentialing departments; provider enrollmentdepartments; managed care organizations
  • Experience maintaining credentialing software and databases
  • Technical experience: Experience with credentialing software platforms, database management, report writing and analytics, Microsoft excel, data validation and quality control.

Physical Activities

  • Intermittent hand manipulation required
  • Intermittent lifting and carrying of 20 lbs.

Role Specific Responsibilities

o Maintains knowledge of current TJC/NCQA medical staff standards, state

and federal requirements.

o Maintains knowledge of the medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations.

o Demonstrates, develops, and emphasizes excellence in customer service.

Database Administration

o Serves as the main liaison between ECHO and the users of the system.

o Responsible for maintaining customer relationship with ECHO in

accordance with the agreement.

o Responsible for the configuration, implementation, maintenance, security,

and overall direction of the ECHO Credentialing and Provider Data

Management System at all participating SIH Hospitals and Service

Organizations.

o Responsible for coordination of all ECHO related audit/maintenance

procedures, new installs/upgrades, system enhancements, consistent

methodology, issue escalation processes, system-wide reporting, special

ad hoc reporting, user training, and general assistance.

o Schedule, coordinate, test, communicate, train, and implement ECHO and

future releases/upgrades

o Maintenance of day to day operations, configuration of user defined fields,

security for ECHO, troubleshooting, and problem resolution skills to

utilize ECHO to the highest potential and ensure system integrity.

o Acts as the key point person for issue escalation to ECHO customer

support

o Knowledge of ECHO system settings and impact to all users of the

system. Identify inter-dependencies with other tasks/applications.

o Assist with ECHO related software design, development, interfaces, and

support.

o Create meaningful metrics for key system functionality, opportunities for improvement/innovation, user needs assessments, compliance, and other usage related processes.

o Audit, assess, procure, implement, effectively utilize and maintain provider credentialing processes and information systems.

o Credentialing

o Maintains numerous practitioner data repositories, including education training, experience, and licensure.

o Provides credentialing and privileging services.

o Evaluate credentialing/privileging requests including evidence of education, training, and experience to determine eligibility for requested privileges/membership.

o Critically analyzing data to create informed recommendations for credentialing and privileging proceedings.

o Recognize, investigate, and validate discrepancies and adverse information obtained from the application, primary source verifications, or other sources.

o Closely monitors information collection, evaluates adequacy and quality, and pursues additional information if necessary for effective and comprehensive peer review decision making.

o Reports to Manager all applicants’ credentials, identified by principles involved in the information collection and review/recommendation process, including recommendations adverse to applicant.
