We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a high-performing team at the intersection of data, finance, automation and artificial intelligence.
This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in data engineering, analytics and AI to solve complex business challenges that directly impact financial accuracy, operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
You'll play a key role in designing and delivering innovative data-driven solutions that support interest and fee reconciliation across Business Banking products, while leveraging emerging technologies including Generative AI, intelligent automation and AI agents to modernise financial operations.

What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, developing and maintaining data solutions supporting interest and fee reconciliation processes.
- Analysing large volumes of banking transaction data to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities for improvement.
- Investigating reconciliation exceptions and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Developing AI-enabled workflows and intelligent automation solutions.
- Building AI agents capable of conducting exception investigations, root-cause analysis and reporting.
- Creating dashboards, monitoring tools and management reporting using Power BI and advanced analytics.
- Leveraging Generative AI and Copilot technologies to automate documentation, reporting and business insights.
- Partnering with Finance, Treasury, Product, Pricing, Technology, Data & Analytics, Risk and Compliance stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes.
What You'll Bring Banking & Financial Services Experience
You'll have experience working within a banking or financial services environment and a strong understanding of:
- Banking products, including deposits and lending
- Interest accrual methodologies and fee structures
- Financial controls and reconciliation processes
- Product Terms & Conditions validation
- Risk management and operational controls
Technical Expertise
You'll bring strong capability across:
- SQL (Teradata, Snowflake, SQL Server or Oracle)
- Python development
- Data analysis and exception management
- Power BI and/or Tableau
- REST APIs and system integrations
- ETL and data integration tools
- Advanced Excel capabilities
- Azure or other cloud platforms
AI & Automation Experience
Experience across one or more of the following will be highly regarded:
- Microsoft Copilot
- Azure OpenAI
- Azure AI Services
- Power Automate
- Power Apps
- AI Agent Frameworks
- Intelligent Document Processing
- Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
- Prompt Engineering
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
