Full description

At Local Crafts, we're the creative force behind some of the most beloved names in crafting: Connecting Threads, Superior Threads, Knit Picks, Crochet.com, and Berroco. From our own workshops to trusted partners around the globe, we design and curate products makers reach for every day: the fabrics, threads, yarns, and tools that turn ideas into finished pieces.

This role is the hub for our quilt patterns, kits, and samples, following each one from a designer's first submission to the finished product. You'll work with our design, merchandising, manufacturing, creative, and web teams, plus an outside group of sewing contractors, to make sure quilters get clear patterns and kits they love.

What You'll Do

  • Run our call for submissions, organize incoming designs, and coordinate the selection committee for new kits
  • Manage a roster of 30+ pattern designers, along with the copyrighted intellectual property that comes with their work
  • Price kit sample projects, assign them to sewing contractors, prepare their materials (including cutting yarn), and keep rolling deadlines on track
  • Draft and invoice contracts for Block of the Month programs
  • Develop and update patterns: draft sample products, calculate yardage, write sewing instructions, create quilt illustrations and instruction diagrams, prepare digital pattern files, and proof everything for commercial use
  • Support merchandising and creative work: review fabric collections, re-color pattern designs in Adobe Illustrator, introduce new thread colorways, coordinate samples for photography, and proof catalog pages and email campaigns
  • Build products in NetSuite, manage website files, coordinate kit literature with our Ohio warehouse, work with the Planning team on fabric replacements, and answer customer questions about patterns and sewing

What You'll Bring

  • Strong quilting and sewing knowledge, with experience writing clear patterns and instructions
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience with yardage calculation and pattern proofing
  • Excellent organization and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and contractors
  • Comfort with contracts, invoicing, and working with freelancers
  • Sharp attention to detail for proofing patterns, catalogs, and email campaigns

You'll Thrive Here If

  • You communicate in a clear, friendly way with designers, contractors, customers, and teammates
  • You like having many projects in motion at once and feel good when they all land on time
  • You have experience with NetSuite or a similar ecommerce or inventory system
  • You're familiar with copyright and IP basics and take care with other people's creative work

Additional Information

  • This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, WA, reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Merchandising & Planning, with 1 to 2 direct reports.
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with company match; paid time off; and parental leave.
  • Employee discounts across all Local Crafts brands: Connecting Threads, Superior Threads, Knit Picks, Crochet.com, and Berroco.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Local Crafts is unable to sponsor employment visas for this position.
  • This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, cut yarn, and lift spools of fabric.
