Staff Product Designer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Product Designer based in Brazil.

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Staff Product Designer to shape the evolution of complex digital products and drive design excellence across multiple teams. In this senior leadership role, you will take ownership of product-wide challenges, identify opportunities for innovation, and influence strategic decisions that shape the overall product experience. You will work closely with Product Management and Engineering leaders to define roadmaps, align priorities, and deliver impactful solutions across different product domains. Beyond hands-on design execution, you will establish design standards, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and ensure consistency throughout the product ecosystem. You will also mentor senior designers, champion design excellence, and help drive the adoption of AI-powered product experiences. Accountabilities:

• Product Problem Ownership: Lead complex, domain-wide design challenges that span multiple teams, identify gaps across the product ecosystem, and drive alignment to ensure solutions are successfully implemented.

• Strategic Product Design: Shape product strategy by identifying high-impact opportunities, defining design priorities, and influencing broader product direction based on user needs and business objectives.

• Cross-Functional Influence: Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering leaders to define roadmaps, establish priorities, and influence what gets built, why it matters, and when it should be delivered.

• Product Experience Consistency: Connect multiple product domains to create cohesive and consistent user experiences, ensuring design decisions align with broader product principles and long-term objectives.

• End-to-End Design Leadership: Lead the execution of high-priority initiatives, from initial discovery and strategic ideation through design development, implementation, and final design quality assurance.

• Design Team Mentorship: Mentor and support Senior Product Designers, strengthen their strategic capabilities, provide guidance, and encourage professional growth across the design organization.

• Design Advocacy: Champion the value and impact of product design at the domain level, ensuring design perspectives are represented in strategic discussions and business decisions.

• AI-Driven Innovation: Establish direction and standards for integrating AI into product experiences and workflows, identifying opportunities to improve usability, efficiency, and organizational impact.

• Organizational Leadership: Contribute to recruitment and talent development by identifying potential candidates, participating in interviews, leveraging professional networks, and helping maintain high hiring standards.

• Long-Term Product Impact: Lead initiatives that influence multiple product areas, improve the overall ecosystem, and contribute to long-term business and product outcomes.

Requirements:

• At least 10 years of professional experience in Product Design, with a proven track record of leading end-to-end design initiatives for web and/or mobile applications.

• Advanced UX and UI Expertise: Extensive knowledge of user experience and interface design principles, with the ability to create intuitive, scalable, and user-centered digital products.

• Design Systems: Demonstrated experience working with, implementing, or scaling design systems to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality across multiple product teams.

• Product Strategy: Proven ability to influence product strategy, identify high-value opportunities, and translate complex business and user challenges into effective design solutions.

• Strategic Leadership: Experience operating across multiple teams or product domains, driving initiatives that extend beyond individual projects and influence broader organizational priorities.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong ability to build alignment with Product Management, Engineering, and senior leadership, communicate complex strategies clearly, and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.

• End-to-End Design Ownership: Experience managing the complete design lifecycle, from research, discovery, and ideation through implementation, delivery, and design quality assurance.

• AI and Emerging Technologies: Demonstrated strategic interest and experience in AI-driven product innovation, including defining AI-integrated workflows, exploring new interaction patterns, and identifying opportunities to scale AI-powered experiences across product ecosystems.

• Mentorship and Team Development: Proven ability to mentor Senior Designers, elevate design capabilities, provide constructive feedback, and influence design culture and standards.

• Communication and Influence: Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to inspire teams, influence senior stakeholders, and articulate a clear product vision.

• Adaptability and Autonomy: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing complex challenges, making strategic decisions, and balancing immediate execution with long-term product direction.

• AI-Driven Design Practices: Curiosity about emerging AI technologies and a willingness to experiment with AI tools to improve design workflows, accelerate prototyping, and enhance product experiences. Portfolio examples of AI-related initiatives are highly valued.
