Role Overview
We are seeking a UX Designer to transform business requirements into tangible designs, wireframes, and user experiences that clients can validate and delivery teams can build from. At Teifi, the UX Designer operates as a shared resource across multiple delivery pods, working closely with Business Analysts, Solutions Analysts, and developers to ensure every client-facing experience is intuitive, on-brand, and accessible. This role owns the design lifecycle from initial wireframes through to high-fidelity mockups and client sign-off.
Key Responsibilities
Discovery & User Flows
- Participate in discovery sessions to understand the client's business context, user needs, and design constraints
- Conduct usability audits of existing client experiences to identify UX issues and opportunities before redesigning
- Map end-to-end user journeys, flows and key interactions the interface must support, working from requirements gathered by the BA and Solutions Analyst
- Develop sitemaps and information architecture to ensure logical navigation and content structure
- Produce low-fidelity wireframes of key screens and workflows for early client review before higher-fidelity design or build begins
Design & Mockups
- Create polished, high-fidelity mockups representing the final look and feel of the solution for client sign-off and developer handoff
- Iterate on designs based on usability testing and stakeholder feedback throughout the engagement
- Ensure designs are responsive across devices and screen sizes
- Clearly annotate UX flows and journeys in designs so developers understand interaction patterns, spacing, and component behaviour
- Remain available during the build phase to answer developer questions, review implementation against designs, and adjust designs when technical constraints require it
Design System & Consistency
- Build and maintain a reusable design system and component library that keeps the UI consistent across the engagement
- Ensure all design work aligns to the client's brand standards and Teifi's design principles
Client Design Review & Sign-Off
- Run design reviews with the client, presenting design decisions clearly and incorporating feedback iteratively
- Support usability testing with end users where applicable, incorporating findings into design iterations
- Secure formal client sign-off on designs before build begins to prevent mid-sprint design changes
Accessibility
- Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards so the solution is usable by all end users
- Apply WCAG guidelines throughout the design process, not as an afterthought
Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience designing interfaces across web and mobile
- Proven ability to lead design on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong portfolio showcasing UX and UI design work across complex digital products
- Deep understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and visual design fundamentals
- Experience producing wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity mockups, and design systems
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices including WCAG
- Experience with agile delivery environments and sprint-based workflows
- Proven ability to present and defend design decisions to clients and non-design stakeholders
- Experience designing for Shopify or ecommerce problem spaces is a strong asset
- Previous agency experience is a strong asset
- Familiarity with front-end development and CMS constraints is an asset
- Fluency in Figma is required
Benefits & Perks
- Ongoing professional development through training programs, certifications, and peer mentorship
- Hybrid work model depending on role, with a Granville Island office and free on-site parking
- Flexibility in work hours designed to accommodate appointments and personal responsibilities
- Comprehensive health and dental coverage in Canada, plus a health spending account
- Paid office closure between Christmas and New Year’s
