IT Project ManagerThe Opportunity: You know that effective data operations leaders sit at the intersection of mission needs, technical execution, and team enablement. We’re looking for a Data Operations and Engineering Lead who can guide a high‑performing team embedded with Army customers to help operationalize Army data within the Army Data Platform. In this role, you will oversee end‑to‑end data operations while ensuring the delivery, quality, and reliability of data pipelines, cleansing processes, engineering workflows, and platform operations that directly support Army mission outcomes.
As the lead for a team of data engineers, data operations specialists, and data architects, you will combine strong management skills with hands-on technical expertise. You will work side‑by‑side with customers to understand mission requirements, translate them into actionable engineering tasks, and ensure the data environment is secure, stable, and optimized for analytics, research, and AI workloads. You’ll serve as a trusted partner to Army stakeholders while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and forward‑looking technical strategy.
In addition to operational leadership, you’ll help shape the roadmap for data integration, data quality, lineage, and automation across the Army Data Platform. You’ll move quickly in a dynamic environment to triage issues, prioritize work, guide Agile ceremonies, and implement metrics to monitor data health and operational performance. Your ability to bring together people, processes, and technology will make a tangible difference in delivering trusted, mission‑ready data.

You Have:
- 8+ years of experience leading data operations or data engineering teams, including oversight of ETL/ELT pipelines, data cleansing, transformation, and data orchestration processes
- 8+ years of experience partnering with government organizations and senior Army stakeholders and managing dispersed, cross‑functional technical teams, including engineers, architects, subcontractors, and analysts
- 8+ years of experience supporting the design, development, and operation of enterprise data platforms or large‑scale analytics ecosystems
- Experience troubleshooting and guiding engineering teams through issues related to data pipelines, schema management, data quality, API integrations, and workflow automation
- Experience using client relationships, acquisition knowledge, and mission understanding to shape strategy, define scope, develop ROMs, and deliver high‑confidence execution plans for Army programs
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies as applied to complex data engineering and research workloads
- Knowledge of data quality, governance standards, security considerations, and best practices to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance across Army data assets
- Ability to recruit, hire, and develop high‑performing data engineering and operations teams, manage large programs, and interface with senior DoD clients
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience improving and automating data operations workflows, monitoring, and processes
- Experience with enterprise data platforms such as Palantir Foundry
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including project management tools such as Microsoft Project
- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies, including low‑code/no‑code tools and open-source data engineering frameworks
- Ability to effectively communicate technical and operational concepts to a wide range of stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics preferred; Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or CompTIA Security+ Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
