Sierra Select is seeking a skilled and dependable Remote Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure. This role will help ensure reliable, secure, and efficient connectivity across internal systems, remote users, business locations, and connected devices.

The ideal candidate has strong networking fundamentals, troubleshooting skills, and experience working with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and network monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

* Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.

* Monitor network performance, availability, security, and connectivity.

* Diagnose and resolve network outages, connectivity issues, and performance problems.

* Support VPNs, remote access, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and related network services.

* Assist with network installations, upgrades, migrations, and configuration changes.

* Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, configurations, and equipment inventories.

* Monitor network security and assist with identifying and resolving potential vulnerabilities.

* Work with IT and other departments to resolve technical issues affecting employees and business operations.

* Support remote employees with connectivity and network-related issues.

* Coordinate with internet service providers, technology vendors, and external support partners when necessary.

* Perform routine network maintenance, testing, and system updates.

* Assist with disaster recovery, backup connectivity, and business continuity initiatives.

* Evaluate network performance and recommend improvements.

* Maintain compliance with company IT policies and security standards.

* Document incidents, resolutions, and network changes.

* Participate in technology projects and other IT initiatives as assigned.

* 3+ years of experience in network engineering, network administration, or a related IT role.

* Associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field preferred.

* Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and switching.

* Experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.

* Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.

* Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.

* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

* Excellent communication and documentation skills.

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities remotely.

* Cisco, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar certification is a plus.

* Experience supporting distributed or remote teams is preferred.
