Do you enjoy getting hands-on with code while shaping the technical direction of innovative products?
In this role, you will combine software engineering expertise with technical leadership, taking ownership of embedded and machine software solutions for our Jointing Solutions portfolio (Infrared Fusion Machines). Approximately 30% of your time will be dedicated to hands-on development, while the remaining 70% focuses on steering, challenging, and coordinating external development partners to ensure high-quality, future-ready solutions. Software Engineer Embedded Systems & Technical Lead (m/f/d)
Your responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded and machine software solutions, contributing directly to coding and software architecture
- Lead and coordinate external software development partners, ensuring technical excellence, timely delivery, and alignment with project objectives
- Define, document, and implement software requirements, interfaces, and system concepts in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Develop and maintain modern development environments, toolchains, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps integrations
- Plan, execute, and oversee integration, verification, and acceptance testing to ensure reliable and high-quality software releases
- Take technical ownership of software approvals, support product development projects with functional prototypes, and drive continuous improvement of development processes
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development, including several years in embedded systems or machine software environments
- Strong hands-on programming skills in C/C++ and experience with at least one of the following: automation programming, Java, or C#/.NET
- Experience managing external development partners, suppliers, or distributed engineering teams while maintaining technical ownership
- Knowledge of Requirements Engineering and Systems Engineering methods, ideally combined with a solid understanding of electronics and hardware-software integration
- Curiosity and willingness to expand your expertise in automation, web technologies, HMI solutions, and modern software development practices
- Important: A valid work permit—or at least EU citizenship—is essential.
