Benefits
Full description
Our JPD Software Engineering team designs and builds embedded software for products we develop with joint design manufacturing (JDM) partners, including WattBox power products, Binary MoIP video-over-IP, the OvrC Pro Hub, Luma surveillance, and Araknis networking. Depending on the product, we own anything from a single application to the full software platform: the operating system, the embedded application, the OvrC remote-management integration, a local web interface, and control system drivers. This is a cross-product role. You will be assigned where the roadmap needs you most, which builds broad knowledge of our platforms and lets you grow quickly.
Your initial focus will be MoIP, working alongside a staff-level engineer who will mentor you through the codebase, tooling, and release process. As you ramp up, you will take on features and fixes in other product areas.
The ideal candidate has a few years of embedded software experience, writes solid C/C++, is comfortable on embedded Linux, and wants to learn from senior engineers while owning meaningful work.
JOB DUTIES:
- Design, implement, and test embedded software for JDM products across WattBox, Binary MoIP, and OvrC Pro, with support for other product lines as needed
- Build and maintain product platforms based on embedded Linux or a lightweight RTOS, working on top of JDM partner software or platforms we develop in-house
- Develop the embedded application layer: business logic that controls product hardware (for example, WattBox outlets) and APIs that expose it to networked control systems, test fixtures, and OvrC
- Integrate and maintain the OvrC platform interface layer, the agent that connects partner hardware to the OvrC remote management platform
- Build and maintain lightweight local web interfaces where a product needs one alongside OvrC
- Work with JDM partners to review their software, define requirements, and resolve integration issues
- Debug issues on target hardware using logs, debuggers, and network and protocol analysis tools
- Write unit and integration tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and build automation
- Investigate and resolve field and support escalations with QA, technical support, and product management
- Take part in design reviews, plan reviews, and code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback
- Use AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot) responsibly to plan, write, review, and test code
- Support secure development practices, including dependency tracking (SBOM) and vulnerability remediation for connected products
YOU MUST HAVE
- 2–5 years of professional experience in embedded software development.
- Proficiency in C and C++
- Hands-on experience developing software for embedded Linux
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: IP, TCP, UDP, multicast, DHCP, DNS
- Experience with Git, Make or CMake, and shell scripting (Bash)
- Working knowledge of Python for tooling and test automation
- Ability to read product specifications, datasheets, and schematics
- Clear written and verbal communication in English
- Willingness to move between product areas and learn new codebases quickly
WE VALUE:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with the Yocto build system, bootloaders, kernel configuration, or Linux kernel device drivers
- Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as SPI, I2C, and UART
- Experience with power electronics or power-management products
- Experience with cloud-connected devices, remote management, or device provisioning
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing of embedded devices
- Familiarity with Agile methods and Jira
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:
- Health insurance through Generali
- Insurance in case of serious illness, surgical intervention, professional illness, and insurance from the consequences of an accident
- Sports and Recreation - Fitpass or Sports Academy Kocovic
- English classes during working hours
- Employee referral bonus program
- Corporate social events and team buildings
- Well-equipped office
