This role will support the Enterprise Information Management System application within the Customer Solutions BSA under TES.
The ideal candidate will be able to do the following:
- End-to-end systems analysis — Ability to lead discovery, clarify business outcomes, define requirements, document impacts, and create work that is ready for development and testing.
- Data and integration analysis — Strong understanding of data mappings, data quality, APIs, batch processing, Kafka, MDM, and cross-system dependencies.
- Technical problem-solving — Ability to investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, assess downstream impacts, and recommend sustainable solutions.
- Stakeholder collaboration and communication — Confidence working with business partners, developers, QE, technical SMEs, and other product teams to translate needs into actionable outcomes.
- Independent ownership — Ability to manage work with limited direction, proactively identify risks, follow through on commitments, and become a reliable source of ECIF knowledge.
The role follows our SuccessFlex model, which includes three remote workdays and two in-office days per week, with an expectation to be on-site in our Columbus OH office primarily on Mondays and Tuesdays for team collaboration.
This role does not qualify for employer sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.

As a Systems Analyst, you’ll partner with the business to understand business needs and outcomes and provide a range of analysis skills related to understanding and achieving those outcomes. You’ll translate business outcomes into solution requirements using techniques such as facilitation and visual management.
A Systems Analyst should have broad technology and analysis experience, including facilitation with large stakeholder groups, managing the complete requirements lifecycle, conducting structured analysis using both quantitative and qualitative techniques, analyzing data, and application suites, and solving problems using a collaborative style. You’ll be engaged in work efforts at all scales, ranging from minor defect fixes and enhancements to the development of new applications. You’ll also work on all types of solution approaches (e.g., custom development, package implementation) and domains (e.g., all application types, data warehouses, web, and cloud).

Key Responsibilities:
- With limited guidance, partners with business, Product Owners and/or Product Analysts, Architects, and technology professionals to understand business needs, desired outcomes, solution context, align requirements to target architecture and technical guardrails, and surface impacts, dependencies, and trade-offs.
- Translates business outcomes into clear, actionable functional and non-functional requirements, and into appropriately scoped technology features and product changes.
- Administers key elements of the requirements lifecycle from idea through implementation, including elicitation, documentation, traceability, validation, and change management.
- Facilitates requirements discussions and supports business alignment through effective facilitation, visualization, and visual management techniques.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to manage requirements and strengthen understanding of the applications, integrations, and processes that support the business.
- Performs analysis of business needs, applications, processes, and relevant data to support delivery, quality improvement, and secure solution outcomes.
- Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager or Director.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field are preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Technology certifications or designations are not required but encouraged.
Experience: Three or more years of relevant work experience including software delivery or educational experience within a technology domain. Experience delivering technology and/or business solutions across industries, platforms, and/or lines of business (LOB) within the insurance and/or financial services industries. Demonstrated capability in managing the requirements lifecycle, including facilitation, elicitation, and documenting requirements.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills and knowledge of planning. Ability to influence, negotiate, and set priorities as needed. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership or technical skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
