Be the Analytical Engine of the Company
This is a foundational, high‑visibility role for a Senior Financial Analyst/Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (depending on experience) who thrives on building, scaling, and influencing. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will help build the FP&A function from the ground up and serve as the analytical backbone of the organization—turning data into insight and insight into action.
You will operate at the intersection of finance, strategy, and operations, partnering with leaders across the business to drive performance, accountability, and informed decision‑making.
What You’ll Do
Build & Lead Financial Insight
Partner with the Director of Finance to establish and scale the FP&A function, frameworks, and best practices. Act as the company’s analytical engine, delivering forward‑looking financial insights that guide strategic decisions. Develop and refine reporting that integrates non‑financial drivers (orders, labor hours, customer metrics) with financial results. Establish, maintain, and enhance financial and operational KPIs to support performance management, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
Rebuild the annual budgeting process from the ground up—owning data collection, modeling, analysis, and integration with monthly reporting. Support the Director of Finance in developing a robust, repeatable forecasting process that enables proactive management. Manage and develop scenario and sensitivity models to evaluate risks, opportunities, and strategic alternatives.
Executive Reporting & Storytelling
Craft sharp, concise financial narratives and commentaries that explain performance, trends, and variances to Executive Leadership. Present financial analysis and key insights to leadership and budget owners on a recurring basis, supporting planning, forecasting, and performance management. Build ad‑hoc analyses, reports, and models to answer complex questions posed by Executives and business leaders. Lead the development and enhancement of BI tools and data automation initiatives (Power BI or similar).
Cross‑Functional Partnership
Collaborate closely with the Controller and Accounting team to ensure accurate, timely monthly financial packages. Lead cross-functional Finance initiatives, ensuring buy-in and accountability across the Executive Team. Provide guidance on accounting adjustments that need to be made to the accounting team. Review monthly financial results in detail, ensuring all transactions are properly reflected and understood. Work with leaders across the organization to understand, measure, and optimize financial performance and keep meticulous commentaries to support accountability. Partner with the Director of Finance to spearhead revenue‑generating and cost‑saving initiatives.
Process Optimization
Lead the efforts for Finance on cross functional data projects. Lead efforts on business process optimization for existing financial and operational reporting. Improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of reporting and planning processes.
What You Bring
Experience & Technical Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with strong working knowledge of accounting principles. Advanced experience building integrated financial models, scenarios, and forecasts. Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, data modeling); experience with Access a plus. Hands‑on experience with Power BI or similar BI/reporting tools. Comfort working deep in the data while maintaining a strategic, big‑picture lens. Attributes for Success Strong analytical thinker with excellent attention to detail.
