As Project control manager, you will lead and coordinate projects controls activities across multiple functions, ensuring alignment between planning and scheduling, Estimation, Production and Supply Chain, Quality and PMO. You will be responsible for establishing strong cross-Functional collaboration to support project execution, improve performance, visibility , identity risks and opportunities and ensure consistent application of project controls processes across the program..

This role required strong leadership, communication, and relationship building skills to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization, as well as customer and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Project Controls team to support the successful execution of assigned programs and projects.
  • Foster effective collaboration between Planning, Scheduling, Production, Supply Chin, Quality and the PMO.
  • Coordinate project performance reviews with functional leaders to identify risks, issues, constraints and recovery opportunities.
  • Ensure schedules accurately reflect project status, progress, milestones, resource requirements and critical path impacts.
  • Oversee progress measurements and reporting processes to provide transparent and timely project performance information to management and customers.
  • Support change management activities by facilitating coordination among technical, production, planning and PMO to assess impacts and implement approved change.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data driven decision making across all project stakeholders.
  • Partner with the functions to develop mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Project Controls personnel while supporting the professional development of team members.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead in a matrix organization where success depends on collaboration across multiple functional departments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business administration or related field experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Measurement (EVM – ANSI/EIA-748-B) in engineering, procurement and construction.
  • Working knowledge of risk management principles and methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of, and a demonstrated understanding of the interrelationship of a good technical project scope definition, quality of the schedule and estimate, construction sequence and execution, procurement and contracting strategies, commissioning and start up.
  • Capable of managing impact of change and trends as it relates to budget control and ETC & EAC analysis.
  • Strong understanding of shipyard operations.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, individuals both internally and externally.
  • Bilingual (French and English). Proficiency in English is required for this position, as the incumbent will be required to interact with our English-speaking clients, partners, and suppliers;
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, including use of pivot tables, formulas, and import/export features.
  • Proficient in the use of Primavera P6, or at a minimum have a comprehensive knowledge of its use and capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while producing high-quality work.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Successfully complete the investigation and security clearance process required under the Federal Government’s Contract Security Program.
