What Gallegos is Looking For...
The Project Engineer will assist in the coordination of the completion of work on projects within masonry, plaster/stucco, concrete, or marble & granite work, which aligns with the mission, vision, values and goals of The Gallegos Corporation. This role should have a comprehensive understanding of project requirements, budget management, and personnel coordination that ensures each project meets quality standards, adhere to timelines and mitigate risks effectively. Additionally, this portion will provide strong support for field staff including Superintendent, Foreman, and Project Managers.
Duties & Responsibilities...
- Provide administrative, coordination and filed support through all project phases.
- Demonstrate proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and processing submittals to ensure project compliance.
- Ensure the highest standard of safety on projects at all times.
- Participate in the Pre-Job Planning process with the assigned Project Manager, VP of Operations and Pre-Construction Department to ensure proper manpower, equipment, and materials is in place prior to beginning any work.
- Assist Project Manager by facilitating and coordinating with all stakeholders thought the Short Interval Planning (SIP) process scheduling proper tools, equipment, materials, and manpower ensuring all are present throughout the project as requested by the field staff and leadership.
- Ensure Foreman are accountable for adhering to the SIP and Daily Huddle processes.
- Participating in the Exit Strategy process with imput from the assigned Project Manager/VP of Operations.
- Generate change orders, take-offs as directed by the VP of Operations or Project Manager.
- Confer with Superintendent, Foreman, and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinate various phases of construction.
- Assist with timekeeping and crew timecards.
- Models The Gallegos Corporation mission and values at all times.
- This position does have supervisory responsibilities.
Candidates must have...
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management of Engineering- Preferred
- Associate Degree in Construction Management or Engineering from two-year college.
- Technical knowledge in construction, estimating or project management-Required
- 2-3 years of equivalent work experience and/or trade school required.
- Ability to review job site blueprints.
- Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- OSHA 30 and Competent Person certifications and Incident Investigation training.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, ProCore, Sage 300 or similar systems.
- Must have a working knowledge of the English Language to communicate with other crew members. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
