What you'll do:

• Define current-state and future-state architecture for Global Lab infrastructure. Develop scalable, secure, and repeatable reference architectures and technology patterns.
• Lead a small engineering team that establishes architectural principles for compute, storage, networking, and virtualization infrastructure. Ensure architectural decisions consider security, reliability, scalability, performance, cost, maintainability, and operational complexity.
• Serve as a senior technical authority for cybersecurity architecture within local risk environments. Influence technical decisions across organizational boundaries.
• Work cross-organizationally with IT and Cybersecurity and Digital Risk Management (CDRM) and serve as a senior escalation point for highly complex infrastructure and cybersecurity problems.
• Support risk assessments and architectural exception processes.
• Lead cross-functional architecture initiatives without requiring direct management authority.
• Represent infrastructure architecture and cybersecurity considerations in strategic planning.
• Mentor senior engineers, architects, and technical specialists.

Risk-Based Decision Making Balances security, business value, cost, operational risk, technical constraints, and innovation to make sound enterprise-level decisions.

Technical Authority & Accountability Serves as a trusted technical authority, makes decisions that optimize enterprise outcomes, and takes ownership of complex architectural decisions and their long-term impact.

Influence & Collaboration Builds alignment and drives adoption across engineering, security, operations, and business organizations without relying on direct authority.

Problem Solving & Innovation Solves complex, ambiguous, and novel challenges while evaluating emerging technologies and identifying opportunities for technical and business value.

Simplification & Standardization Reduces complexity through standardized, scalable, secure, and repeatable architectures and engineering practices.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship Elevates organizational technical capability by mentoring engineers and architects, sharing expertise, and establishing effective engineering practices.

Communication Clearly communicates complex technical, architectural, and cybersecurity concepts to engineers, architects, executives, and non-technical stakeholders.

Education Qualification:

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in infrastructure architecture, systems engineering, cybersecurity architecture, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience architecting complex enterprise, data center or lab environments.
• Deep understanding of infrastructure and cybersecurity technologies.
• Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory 
• Demonstrated ability to lead architecture across organizational and technology boundaries.
• Strong experience with risk-based architecture and security-by-design principles.
• Proven ability to influence senior technical stakeholders.

Preferred

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, TOGAF, GIAC, or comparable professional certification.
• Advanced cloud architecture or security certification.
• Experience designing environments with elevated security or operational risk.
• Experience establishing enterprise architecture standards and governance.
