This is a senior, site-based position where you will take ownership of the commissioning programme and act as the key interface between the client, design teams, contractors, vendors and commissioning specialists.

You’ll be responsible for driving the project through commissioning, testing, integrated systems testing and ultimately successful client handover.

What You'll Be Doing

You will take responsibility for commissioning delivery across the project lifecycle, including:

  • Developing and maintaining the Commissioning Execution Plan, programme, responsibility matrix, resource forecast and reporting structure.
  • Leading commissioning kick-off meetings, planning sessions and design reviews.
  • Coordinating contractors, vendors and commissioning specialists across L2, L3 and L4 commissioning.
  • Managing site readiness, access, permits, temporary services and testing prerequisites.
  • Coordinating Factory and Field Witness Tests.
  • Overseeing commissioning checklists, method statements and test scripts.
  • Chairing commissioning and client meetings and reporting on progress, risks, resources and recovery actions.
  • Maintaining commissioning trackers, look-ahead programmes, risk registers and action logs.

L4, IST & Handover As the project moves towards completion, you'll coordinate Level 4 commissioning across all systems and lead the preparation and delivery of Level 5 Integrated Systems Testing (IST).

This includes managing scripts, resources, attendance, readiness reviews, defects, retesting and change control through to client acceptance.

You'll then oversee final commissioning documentation, O&M information, training and phased handover to the client and operations teams.

What We're Looking For We're particularly interested in candidates with:

  • Proven project management experience within data centres, mission-critical facilities or complex building services environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, controls and life-safety commissioning.
  • Experience managing commissioning programmes, stakeholders, risks, change, reporting and technical interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of the commissioning lifecycle and ideally hands-on exposure to L2–L5 / IST.
  • Excellent leadership, organisation and client-facing skills.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple contractors, vendors and disciplines within a live project environment.
  • CSCS, Safe Pass, ECS, SMSTS or equivalent site qualification. Commissioning Project Manager
  • An HNC/HND or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, Construction Management or a related discipline
  • A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or PMP.
