Job Purpose

The LEA Project Manager provides day-to-day leadership for implementation of Project AWARE within the assigned school district. The LEA Project Manager coordinates school-based behavioral health activities, supervises Tier 2 Interventionists, collaborates with school administrators and FCCBH leadership, supports Student Assistance Teams, monitors project implementation, and ensures successful integration of the three-tier behavioral health framework.

Qualifications

  • A mental health professional, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or a human services field, OR
  • At least two years of higher education with two years of experience in psychiatric, substance use treatment, or developmental disabilities services, OR
  • Four years of equivalent experience working with consumers and their families receiving psychiatric, substance use treatment, or developmental disabilities services to support their personal, social, and vocational competencies and successful community living.

Core Job Duties

  • Supervise Tier 2 Interventionists and support service delivery.
  • Coordinate Student Assistance Team activities and follow-up.
  • Coordinate implementation of the Wayfinder curriculum.
  • Collaborate with principals on school behavioral health activities.
  • Support behavioral health coaching for educators.
  • Coordinate student referrals to behavioral health services.
  • Monitor student and district project outcomes.
  • Coordinate student reintegration following treatment.
  • Participate in Project AWARE Advisory Board meetings.
  • Assist with required SAMHSA SPARS reporting.
  • Support workforce development and training activities.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary Student Assistance Team meetings and school behavioral health planning meetings.
  • Assist with collection and review of project performance data.
  • Ensure the program operates safely.
  • Communicate concerns to the Project Director and provide regular feedback and recommendations.
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.

Core Competencies/Working Knowledge

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the three-tier school behavioral health framework, Student Assistance Teams, and the Wayfinder curriculum.
  • Apply staff supervision, educator coaching, and service coordination skills to support district implementation.
  • Use project performance data and SPARS reporting requirements to monitor implementation and guide improvements.
  • Demonstrate leadership (willingness to lead, take charge and offer opinions and direction);
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of diagnostic criteria set for substance use and/or mental disorders.
  • Familiarity with treatment and community resources and ability to link person(s) served with said resources
  • Demonstrate corporate values in day-to-day activities.
