About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major data centre project for one of the world's leading digital infrastructure providers.
A key focus of this role will be leading the project through the bid and early project development phase. Working closely with commercial, engineering, procurement and delivery teams, you will help shape the project strategy, coordinate bid activities, identify risks and ensure technical, commercial and delivery requirements are fully understood before project commitments are made.
Following a successful bid outcome, you will transition into leading the end-to-end delivery of the project through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. This role requires an individual who can combine strong project leadership with commercial acumen, stakeholder management and disciplined project execution across a complex, high-value infrastructure environment.
This role is based in Mulgrave, VIC and offers a hybrid working arrangement. The position is being offered on a fixed-term contract for an initial period of 18–24 months, aligned to the delivery lifecycle of this major project.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and coordinate project activities throughout the bid and early project development phase.
- Coordinate technical, engineering, commercial, procurement and delivery inputs to develop an executable project solution.
- Validate project scope, costs, schedule, risks, assumptions and delivery requirements before commitments are made.
- Lead the transition from project development into execution while maintaining continuity of project knowledge and commercial considerations.
- Lead end-to-end project delivery through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover
What you’ll bring
We're looking for a proven project leader who combines strong commercial acumen with the ability to deliver complex projects in demanding environments.
Required
- Demonstrated experience leading projects through early development, estimating, tender preparation and bid management before progressing into execution and delivery. This is a critical requirement for the role.
- Coordinating engineering, commercial, procurement and delivery inputs to develop executable project solutions.
- Extensive experience delivering complex, high-value or high-risk projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Strong commercial, contractual and financial management capability.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders across technical, commercial, delivery and customer environments
- Experience within major infrastructure, energy, construction, data centre or other large-scale project environments
- Strong understanding of project commercial structures, contractual risk allocation and change management.
Highly regarded
- Professional project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or AIPM CPPM/CPPP.
