Data Analyst - FP&A
About the Role
We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our FP&A team and support financial and operational analytics across the business. This is a hands-on role covering management reporting, data analysis, dashboarding, data modelling, validation and automation.
The analyst will work closely with Finance and other business teams to turn transactional and operational data into reliable reporting and actionable insights. The role will involve maintaining existing dashboards and data models, developing new analytical datasets and reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting, investigating data discrepancies, and improving recurring finance processes through automation.
This role is well suited to an early-career analyst who is technically strong, detail-oriented and comfortable working directly with large transactional datasets. The ideal candidate is able to move beyond simply producing reports and can understand how the underlying data is generated, identify issues, reconcile outputs across different sources and translate business requirements into reliable analytical solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in data analytics, BI, finance analytics or a similar analytical role. Strong fresh graduates with relevant internship or hands-on project experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong SQL skills, including experience working with joins, CTEs, aggregations, window functions and large transactional datasets.
- Strong Python skills for data analysis, transformation and automation, with experience using libraries such as pandas.
- Good understanding of data modelling concepts, including dataset grain, keys, joins, transformations and data quality.
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills, with the ability to independently perform financial and operational analysis.
- Experience building dashboards and reports using Tableau, Superset, Power BI, Looker or similar BI tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis and validate outputs across multiple data sources.
- Comfortable working with recurring financial and operational reporting, including trend analysis, variance analysis and management reporting.
- Ability to translate business requirements and commercial rules into structured, repeatable and testable analytical logic.
Good to Have
- Experience working with transactional, payments, fintech or financial datasets.
- Exposure to dbt, ClickHouse or other analytical databases, Git / version control, data pipeline concepts or workflow automation.
- Experience with AI-enabled workflow automation tools such as n8n, including building automated data or operational workflows.
- Experience using AI-assisted analytics or coding tools to improve productivity, with an emphasis on independently validating generated outputs.
Key Attributes
- High ownership mindset, with the ability to independently manage recurring analytical and reporting responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data validation and reconciliation.
- Curious and analytical, with a willingness to investigate underlying drivers rather than simply report numbers.
- Comfortable working across both technical data problems and commercial / financial questions.
- Clear and concise communicator who can explain analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-moving environment where data sources, business requirements and operational processes continue to evolve.
- Strong willingness to learn new tools, understand complex transaction flows and continuously improve existing processes.
