Gannett Publishing Services, located at The Democrat & Chronicle, is seeking a dependable and motivated Assistant Delivery Manager to support our newspaper distribution operations in Rochester, NY.

This is a hands-on, part-time position ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, staying active, solving problems, and helping ensure our customers receive their newspapers on time.

What You’ll Do

As an Assistant Delivery Manager, you’ll help keep daily distribution operations running smoothly. Responsibilities include:

  • Distribute and handle daily and non-daily publications for carriers, haulers, retailers, and customers.
  • Load and unload trucks containing newspapers and other print publications.
  • Open and prepare the Distribution Center for independent contractors.
  • Print, prepare, and distribute required reports and paperwork.
  • Assist with newspaper delivery routes as needed.
  • Respond to and help resolve subscriber service issues.
  • Complete required documentation and operational reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized Distribution Center.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
  • Dependable personal vehicle and required liability insurance.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to repetitively lift newspaper bundles weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull carts loaded with newspapers weighing up to 500 pounds with assistance.
  • Flexibility to work varying nights and hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
