Working closely with business stakeholders, BI team members, data engineers, technology partners, and subject-matter experts, the analyst will help translate business needs into governed, sustainable data and reporting solutions. Responsibilities span requirements discovery, data analysis, solution design, testing, implementation, documentation, stakeholder enablement, and production support. The position operates within EBI’s evolving team model, which combines stakeholder-aligned delivery with shared capabilities and consistent standards across the organization. The successful candidate will be a collaborative, highly organized problem solver who can manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with business and technical audiences, and take increasing ownership of BI deliverables through the full solution lifecycle.
Specific Responsibilities
- Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders and develop an understanding of their objectives, operating processes, data needs, and reporting priorities.
- Elicit, analyze, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements, translating business questions into clear use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, data requirements, and actionable delivery plans.
- Conduct data discovery and analysis to assess data availability, fitness for purpose, and governance; identify trends, patterns, exceptions, and actionable insights, and communicate findings clearly to business and technical audiences.
- Support the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of dashboards, reports, metrics, and other BI solutions in partnership with BI developers, data engineers, technology teams, and subject-matter experts.
- Coordinate stakeholder reviews, user acceptance testing, implementation readiness, solution adoption, and related communications through the delivery lifecycle.
- Provide production support for existing BI solutions, including issue analysis, stakeholder communication, resolution coordination, enhancement intake, and maintenance of supporting documentation.
- Manage assigned deliverables across multiple initiatives, proactively identifying and communicating priorities, risks, dependencies, decisions, and barriers to delivery.
- Apply established EBI standards and best practices for data analysis, visualization, documentation, governance, quality, accessibility, and solution support; participate in peer review and knowledge sharing to improve consistency and reuse.
- Support stakeholder enablement, data-fluency initiatives, and emerging AI-enabled business intelligence capabilities by helping users effectively consume data, metrics, dashboards, and analytical insights.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a business analysis, data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, or data-focused role.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into data, reporting, analytics, or technology solutions.
- Hands-on experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools, preferably Sigma, Power BI, or a comparable platform.
- Working knowledge of SQL and experience analyzing data from multiple sources.
- Experience supporting BI or reporting solutions through multiple stages of the delivery lifecycle, such as requirements, design, testing, implementation, enhancement, or production support.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with emerging AI-enabled analytics, reporting, and natural-language technologies, including the use of generative AI tools to improve business intelligence delivery and stakeholder outcomes.
Additional Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of financial services operations and technology is preferred; experience in banking, capital markets, clearing, settlement, asset servicing, or related financial operations is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, manage priorities, and move assigned deliverables forward with appropriate guidance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to clarify ambiguity and connect data findings to business needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analytical and technical information in a clear, business-friendly manner.
- Experience collaborating across business, operations, data, and technology teams and building productive stakeholder relationships.
- Detail-oriented approach to requirements, data validation, testing, documentation, and production support.
