Are you an experienced embedded software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems at the intersection of firmware, electronics, and motion control? Del Medical is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to help develop, improve, and support the embedded systems powering our medical imaging equipment. This is an opportunity to take meaningful technical ownership of real-world products, work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers, and see your engineering solutions move from development into production. We are particularly interested in engineers who understand what happens below the application layer—people who can write efficient firmware, debug hardware-software interactions, and develop dependable embedded solutions rather than relying exclusively on high-level software frameworks. What You'll Do Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware using C and/or C++. Develop bare-metal firmware for microcontroller-based systems and real-time applications. Design and improve motion-control functionality involving motors, encoders, sensors, and actuators. Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols, including CAN/CANopen, RS-232, I²C, SPI, and Ethernet. Collaborate with electrical engineers on PCB bring-up, electronic interfaces, and hardware-software integration. Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, and other diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve complex technical problems. Develop software verification tests, investigate failures, and improve system reliability. Document software architecture, interfaces, requirements, testing, and engineering changes. Support prototype development, production troubleshooting, and ongoing product improvements. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and product engineering teams. What We're Looking For Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Typically 7+ years of professional embedded software or firmware development experience. Strong proficiency in embedded C and/or C++. Demonstrated experience with bare-metal programming and microcontroller-based systems. Hands-on experience debugging electronic hardware and firmware integration issues. Experience with embedded communication interfaces and protocols. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to independently own technical assignments and deliver maintainable, reliable software. Highly desirable experience: Motor control, motion-control systems, encoders, feedback loops, or real-time control. Medical devices, diagnostic imaging, industrial controls, or other reliability-critical products. Altium Designer, PCB development, and electronic schematic interpretation. RTOS development, firmware update mechanisms, automated testing, or hardware diagnostics. Familiarity with medical-device software lifecycle, risk management, verification, and quality requirements. What Makes This Opportunity Different? Meaningful technical ownership: Contribute directly to embedded systems used in medical imaging equipment. Hands-on engineering: Work with actual electronics, firmware, motors, and integrated systems. Cross-disciplinary collaboration: Work alongside electrical, mechanical, and product engineering professionals. Visible impact: Help improve product functionality, reliability, and serviceability. Competitive compensation: Earn $100,000–$150,000 annually based on demonstrated expertise. Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience and knowledge Health, dental, and vision insurance. STD, LTD, Life and AD&D Insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company match. Paid time off, including holidays and vacation. Opportunities for professional development and career advancement. Who Will Succeed Here? You are a hands-on engineer who enjoys understanding how systems work, diagnosing difficult problems, and building solutions that last. You are comfortable working independently, but you also know how to collaborate with engineers from different disciplines. You take pride in code quality, sound engineering decisions, technical documentation, and seeing a project through to completion. Candidates whose experience is limited to application-level software development without hands-on embedded firmware or hardware integration experience are unlikely to be a fit. Apply Today If you have embedded firmware, electronics, and motion-control experience to make a difference, we want to hear from you. Please submit your résumé highlighting your embedded development experience, microcontroller platforms, communication protocols, and a few examples of challenging technical problems you have solved. Del Medical is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are based on qualifications and applicable law. Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s): Do you require sponsorship at all now or in the future to work in the United States?
