Strategy & Board Governance Project Manager (Temporary, 4-Month Assignment)

Location: California (San Francisco Bay Area preferred) Duration: October 2026 – March 2027 (approximately 4 months) Schedule: Part-Time or Full-Time

ROLE SUMMARY:

Accion Opportunity Fund has a large calendar of board meetings covering three different entities as well as organizational strategy and collaboration meetings. The Strategy & Board Governance Project Manager will work directly with the VP/Chief of Staff along with the CEO and Executive Team on the following:

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project and program management of all board meetings across three entities (approximately 50 board and executive committee meetings a year)
  • Content management and creation for all board meetings including communication with board members about meetings
  • Management and distribution of board documents within board portal
  • Scheduling, site sourcing and planning of in-person board meetings
  • Weekly eTeam Meetings & Monthly All Staff meetings – plan agendas, facilitate, drive follow-ups and documentation
  • CEO schedule and engagement support – external event coordination, speaking talking points, etc. (There is an Executive Assistant who manages CEO’s calendar)

MUST HAVES:

Project management proven track record managing board governance and meetings for financial institutions, executive communication skills, responsiveness, high attention to detail, strong external executive partner management, flawless execution, strong familiarity with using AI for workflow/not just queries, flexibility (managing Pacific to East coast schedules and meeting times)

Ideal Candidate:

Is 5-15 years out of college, has worked in community, regional or other banking environments, with a strong proven track record of managing board governance. Lives in San Francisco bay area.

Compensation*: $80-$95 per hour, depending on experience

*Please note that the above salary range is a national range, and compensation is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and skill level.
