LOGZONE is seeking a Project Manager in support of a government contract in Northport, NY. This contract will run janitorial services at a veteran medical facility. The team will provide healthcare-level cleaning for roughly 200,000 square feet of hospital corridors, clinics, and labs, including restrooms.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet weekly with the VA COR, write the meeting minutes, and get them signed within 5 days.
  • Maintain the employee roster and send weekly updates to the COR.
  • Submit staff schedules one week in advance, and report changes as they happen.
  • Submit the monthly man-hour report by the 5th of each month.
  • Own the Quality Control Plan: run weekly audits, document compliance, and drive corrective action.
  • Build the floor-care and deep-cleaning schedule and get COR approval before the contract starts.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain hourly staff, including VA badging and background checks.
  • Handle employee discipline and removals, and report substantiated violations to the VA in writing.
  • Prepare monthly invoices and track labor costs against budget.
  • Ensure Service Contract Act wage and benefit compliance and the 50% limitation on subcontracting.
  • Manage the equipment fleet and coordinate supply requests with VA Environmental Management Service (EMS).

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of janitorial or environmental services management, including 3+ years in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Experience managing a federal or government services contract, preferably VA or DoD.
  • Working knowledge of Joint Commission standards, OSHA, infection control, and HIPAA.
  • Experience supervising 20+ hourly employees across multiple shifts.
  • Strong written English; comfortable writing reports, minutes, and corrective action plans.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
  • Able to pass a federal background check and obtain a VA PIV badge.

Preferred:

  • Documented healthcare sanitation experience and training
  • Copies of any formal training program (i.e. National Executive Housekeeping Association)
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP), or IEHA REH/CEH.
  • Familiarity with the Service Contract Act and wage determinations.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, facilities, or a related field.
