Senior Solutions Engineer - Enterprise Technology

Description & Requirements

Who We Are

Bloomberg's Enterprise Technology Solutions team solves complex integration challenges at the intersection of financial markets and technology.

Financial institutions operate across an increasingly interconnected ecosystem of trading, portfolio management, risk, operations, and settlement platforms. Our team works directly with clients to connect Bloomberg's enterprise solutions with those systems, helping firms simplify their technology environments, automate critical workflows, and move data securely and reliably across their organization.

We combine deep financial markets knowledge with technical expertise in APIs, messaging, data transformation, connectivity, and integration architecture to help clients modernize their workflows and get the most out of Bloomberg's technology.

What's the Role?

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of complex technical integrations between Bloomberg's enterprise platforms and our clients' technology environments.

You'll work directly with client technology, trading, operations, and business teams to understand their workflows, translate requirements into technical solutions, and guide implementations from initial design through testing and production deployment.

The work is highly varied. One project may involve designing a real-time trade integration using FIX or APIs, while another may require transforming complex data, integrating with messaging infrastructure, or building a secure batch-based workflow. Depending on the client and use case, you may work with technologies such as FIX, XML, APIs, MQ, SFTP, SWIFT, WebSockets, and other messaging and connectivity technologies.

You do not need to have worked with every technology we use. We're looking for someone with strong integration fundamentals, technical curiosity, and the ability to quickly understand new systems, technologies, and financial workflows. You'll combine hands-on technical problem solving with ownership of complex, client-facing implementations.

We'll Trust You To

  • Own the technical design and delivery of complex client integrations from discovery and requirements gathering through testing and production deployment
  • Partner with client technology and business teams to understand their workflows, identify technical requirements, and recommend scalable integration approaches
  • Design, configure, test, and troubleshoot solutions spanning APIs, messaging, data transformation, file-based integrations, and real-time connectivity
  • Lead technical conversations with clients, clearly communicating solution design, implementation considerations, risks, and dependencies
  • Diagnose complex issues across interconnected systems, identify root causes, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Client Service teams to drive resolution
  • Manage multiple client engagements and priorities while maintaining ownership of delivery and client outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to improve implementation approaches, tooling, and processes to create more scalable solutions and a stronger client experience

You'll Need To Have

  • 7+ years of experience in solutions engineering, technical consulting, systems integration, implementation engineering, software engineering, or a related technical role
  • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, or supporting integrations between complex enterprise systems
  • Experience with integration technologies such as APIs, FIX, messaging platforms, SFTP, XML, or similar technologies
  • An understanding of capital markets or financial-services workflows, with the ability to learn complex business processes and understand how technology supports them
  • Strong client-facing communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own technical projects, navigate ambiguity, and manage multiple priorities

We'd Love to See

  • Experience working with order management, portfolio management, trading, risk, or other financial technology platforms
  • Knowledge of buy-side or sell-side trading workflows and the trade lifecycle
  • Experience with financial messaging standards or enterprise integration technologies such as SWIFT, FpML, XSLT, MQ,
  • Programming or scripting experience using Python or another modern programming language
  • Experience with ETL, data transformation, or data-processing workflows
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure, as well as modern software development and source-control practices
  • Experience with API development and testing tools such as Postman
  • Portuguese and/or Spanish language proficiency
