Network & OT Infrastructure Solutions Engineer (f/m/d)

As a trusted technical advisor, you will provide consulting, solution design, presales support, implementation guidance and training for industrial communication and network infrastructure. Whether your background is in IT or OT networks, you will help customers build resilient, secure and highly available networks that form the foundation of Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT.

What will be your main responsibilities?

• Provide technical consulting and presales support for Siemens Industrial Networking and OT Infrastructure solutions, working with customers, partners and Siemens sales teams worldwide.
• Analyze customer requirements and design scalable, secure and highly available network solutions based on industry standards and best practices.
• Develop complete infrastructure solutions, including switching, routing, segmentation, wireless communication, remote access, network management and cybersecurity integration.
• Support customer projects through presentations, workshops, product demonstrations, proofs of concept and architecture reviews, both remotely and onsite.
• Prepare technical proposals, RFIs, RFPs, solution specifications and project documentation.
• Provide implementation guidance, configuration support, troubleshooting and commissioning for complex communication networks.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, product management, professional services and technical support to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
• Deliver trainings and knowledge transfer sessions for customers, partners and colleagues, and contribute to application guides, white papers and reference architectures.
• Gather market feedback, customer requirements and industry trends to support portfolio development.
• Support digitalization initiatives by integrating network, OT infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions into customer environments.
• Maintain records of customer engagements and opportunities in CRM and reporting tools.

Your profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, IT, Automation, or a comparable technical field.
• Several years of experience in network engineering and infrastructure (IT and/or OT), technical consulting, or system integration.
• Strong knowledge of Ethernet, IP communications, routing, switching, network redundancy, and network management.
• Experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting industrial communication networks.
• Strong customer-facing and consulting skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to different audiences.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary, international teams.
• Self-motivated, structured, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approx. 30–40%).

Your advantage

• Understanding of OT environments and industrial automation systems.
• Networking certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Siemens CPIN/CEIN, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of industrial and standard protocols such as PROFINET, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, or MQTT.
• Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies (e.g., VLAN, RSTP, OSPF, BGP). • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and standards such as IEC 62443, ISO 27001, or Zero Trust.
• Experience with firewalls, network segmentation, and secure remote access.
• Practical experience in manufacturing, energy, transportation, or other critical infrastructure.
• Experience with virtualization, cloud connectivity, edge computing, or Industrial IoT.
• Knowledge of scripting or automation tools such as Python or PowerShell.
• Understanding of digital transformation and converged IT/OT environments.
