Salesforce Lead with Data Migration

This experienced, hands-on consultant supports the Technical Data Architect and leads execution across mapping, ETL, validation, test loads, defect resolution, cutover, and documentation. The role partners with Salesforce, integration, business, ERP, and database teams while using automation and AI-enabled tools to improve delivery quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Execute extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation activities within the architect-defined migration strategy.
• Build and maintain field-level source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, picklist mappings, value conversions, and relationship logic.
• Write and tune SQL and SOQL queries for profiling, migration, validation, exception analysis, and reconciliation.
• Configure and run ETL jobs across Salesforce, ERP platforms, relational databases, and other external systems.
• Develop scripts in Python, Shell, PowerShell, Apex, or similar languages for cleansing, transformations, automation, and quality controls.
• Profile source data to identify duplicates, missing values, invalid formats, gaps, and design-level risks.
• Run iterative test loads and mock migrations, then track data defects and mismatches through resolution.
• Troubleshoot validation failures, lookup errors, relationship issues, record locking, throughput, and load performance.
• Support cutover planning and execution, including sequencing, post-load validation, reconciliation, and businesssign-off.
• Document mappings, load procedures, scripts, controls, reconciliation e vidence, and repeatable runbooks.
• Apply data quality, security, governance, and compliance practices throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Use modern automation and AI tools to accelerate analysis while preserving human review and delivery accountability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct experience in data migration, ETL, or data engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience producing detailed data mapping documents and transformation specifications.
• Strong SQL proficiency, including joins, aggregations, exception queries, and validation techniques.
• Working knowledge of SOQL and the Salesforce data model, including standard objects, relationships, and record

ownership.

• Experience with Salesforce Data Loader, Bulk API, or comparable loading tools, plus an enterprise ETL platform.
• Experience supporting multiple migration cycles, including mock loads, reconciliation, defect resolution, and cutover.
• Scripting ability in Python, Shell, PowerShell, Apex, or a comparable language.
• Familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, or other relational database platforms.
• Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, documentation discipline, and delivery under tight deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Preferred: Exposure to AI-enabled productivity, data quality, or engineering tools.
