Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineering Manager to join L3Harris Missile Solutions Segment in Mason, Ohio. This individual will report to the Senior Manager, Supplier Quality and provide leadership for the Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) team for various projects in the Sensor business.
The selected individual will be responsible for the development, implementation, leadership, and measurement of total quality management programs. Acting as a central point of communication, ensuring that all team members are aligned with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
Essential Functions:
- Lead Supplier Quality Engineering Team to achieve Mason site goals with high level focus on successful zero-defect, on-time delivery of products meeting contractual quality and performance requirements.
- Requires comprehensive level knowledge of job area. May have in-depth knowledge of project management.
- Leads projects, provides training, logistical and infrastructural assistance for quality initiatives.
- Ensures internal, customer, regulatory and 3rd party requirements are defined, measured, and continuously improved.
- Experienced in auditing Quality Management Systems at suppliers.
- Ability to travel of up to 20% domestically
- Drives cross-functional engagement initiatives to ensure quality is built into the design and supplier processes.
- Develops and leads a team of Supplier Quality Engineers.
- May Interface with customer and on-site representatives.
- Apply effective interpretation and application of Quality Standards, such as AS9100, ISO-9001, NADCAP, J-STD, IPC standards, etc.
- Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in reading and interpreting designs/blueprints of complex nature.
- 5+ years’ experience with problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, Value Stream Mapping, CAPA) and quality tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Gage R&R)
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Lean Manufacturing and 6-Sigma/OpEx Green Belt Certification
- ASQ® Certifications
- Aerospace or Defense Manufacturing experience.
- Experience with J-STD Workmanship, ANSI J-Standards (Class 3) and IPC Workmanship Standards (Class 3), Teamcenter and TipQA
- Highly motivated and ability to work independently
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
