Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

The QA Engineer ensures the quality, reliability and security of Payzeep's software through structured manual and automated testing. The QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, security, and performance of the Payzeep products and platforms. The role supports the software development lifecycle through test planning, test execution, defect management, automation, and continuous quality improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and execute test plans, test cases and regression suites.
• Build and maintain automated test scripts for web/mobile/API layers.
• Identify, document and track defects through resolution.
• Participate in sprint planning to define acceptance criteria.
• Support UAT coordination and release-readiness sign-off.
• Support performance and security-focused testing where required.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable releases.
• Validate web, mobile, API, and back-end services to ensure consistent functionality and performance.
• Work closely with development teams to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
• Support performance, load, and stress testing activities.
• Contribute to defining acceptance criteria and quality gates for product features.
• Ensure testing activities support applicable financial services regulations and data protection requirements.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (required).EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Total Relevant Experience: 3–5 years

Fintech / Financial Services Experience: 2+ years testing software in fintech or a regulated environment preferred

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Strong manual and automated testing skills (e.g. Selenium, Postman, Cypress)
• Knowledge of SQL and database testing.
• Experience with API testing and test-management tools
• Understanding of Agile QA practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and defect-analysis skills

• REGULATORY CONSIDERATIONS (NIGERIA)
• Ensures test coverage includes validation of PCI-DSS-relevant controls and NDPA-compliant data handling before release.
