Position Overview
The Business Applications Analyst supports, improves, and governs enterprise applications managed by LG Energy Solution headquarters on behalf of LG Energy Solution Vertech. Serving as the functional liaison among business stakeholders, the Business Applications team, HQ application owners, and approved vendors, this role translates business needs into requirements, coordinates incidents and enhancements, supports testing and deployment, and promotes reliable, secure, well-documented applications. Professional working proficiency in English and Korean is essential.
Primary Responsibilities
- Application support: Act as the primary functional contact for assigned HQ-managed applications; coordinate incidents, service requests, access issues, defects, and escalations through resolution.
- Business analysis and improvement: Elicit and document business, functional, reporting, data, integration, and control requirements; map current-state processes, identify root causes and control gaps, and recommend practical future-state improvements.
- HQ and stakeholder coordination: Work with HQ application owners and technical teams in English and Korean to clarify requirements, reconcile global standards with local needs, track decisions, and communicate status, risks, and dependencies.
- Enhancements and releases: Support application changes, integrations, and deployments by coordinating scope, priorities, testing, acceptance criteria, readiness, cutover, validation, and post-implementation stabilization.
- Data, access, and controls: Define data and interface requirements; support data validation, role-based access, segregation-of-duties reviews, audit evidence, change controls, records retention, and security and compliance activities.
- Documentation and adoption: Maintain process maps, requirements, knowledge articles, work instructions, training materials, issue logs, backlogs, decisions, risks, and service metrics; deliver user training and reinforce consistent system use.
- Continuous improvement: Monitor recurring issues, user feedback, utilization, and changing business needs; recommend improvements to applications, processes, controls, support models, and business value.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in information systems, business administration, engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 10 or more years of experience in business systems analysis, enterprise application support, functional consulting, product ownership, or a related role.
- Professional working proficiency in Korean and English, including conducting meetings and preparing clear business and technical documentation in both languages.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications and end-to-end business processes, including procure-to-pay and record-to-report.
- Experience eliciting requirements, mapping processes, defining acceptance criteria, coordinating testing, and supporting production releases.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, stakeholder management, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across local, remote, and international teams while handling confidential information in accordance with security, privacy, compliance, and internal-control requirements.
Desired:
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP HANA, especially finance, procurement, inventory, project, or reporting processes.
- Experience supporting globally governed applications in a multinational organization and familiarity with IT service management, change, incident, problem, and application lifecycle practices.
- Experience with integrations, APIs, data mapping, master data, reporting, reconciliation, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Jira/Confluence, ServiceNow, or comparable tools.
- Familiarity with role-based access, segregation of duties, audit support, and control-sensitive processes; relevant business analysis, project management, Agile, ITIL, SAP, or Lean/Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Experience in renewable energy, battery energy storage, manufacturing, engineering, field service, or another asset-intensive industry.
Working Conditions/Office Environment/Travel
Based in Westborough, Massachusetts, with regular collaboration across time zones and occasional meetings outside standard local business hours to coordinate with LGES HQ. Travel is expected to be up to 10%, with occasional additional domestic or international travel based on project and business needs.
