Metis is looking for a Business Test Analyst to join our Team.
Metis is a Roanoke-owned and operated company that provides third-party administrative services for self-insurance risk pools, along with operational support and other innovative solutions for Metis subsidiaries. What You’ll Do:
- Develop, document, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and expected results for software and system changes.
- Participate in defect review and triage activities, with increasing responsibility for defect classification, prioritization, and escalation as experience grows.
- Participate in project activities and collaborate with project teams, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure that requirements and acceptance criteria are clear, complete, and testable.
- Translate business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation into appropriate testing scenarios
- Create and maintain testing documentation including testing metrics, summary reports, and quality sign-offs in alignment with project objectives and business requirements.
- Perform manual functional and regression testing for new systems, enhancements, integrations, configuration changes, and defect fixes.
- Record test results, document defects and unexpected system behavior, and provide clear information to support troubleshooting and resolution.
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including assisting business users and project teams in developing and executing test plans, managing test cycles, and communicating feedback and issues from end users to developers and project managers.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Project Management, or related field preferred – or equivalent professional experience and training.
- Approximately two (2) to five (5) years of experience in business analysis, software testing, application support, project support, information technology, quality assurance, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience developing test cases, supporting User Acceptance Testing, performing system testing, or documenting business or system requirements is preferred.
Technical Knowledge
Candidates should possess or be capable of developing working knowledge of:
- Software testing and test-case development.
- User Acceptance Testing and Regression Testing.
- Agile software-development and project-management practices.
- Requirements analysis and acceptance criteria.
- Defect identification and tracking.
- Microsoft Azure DevOps or similar application-lifecycle-management tools.
- Commercial off-the-shelf and custom-developed business systems.
- Basic concepts related to system integrations, data validation, and test automation.
- Experience with automated testing tools, SQL, APIs, scripting, or related technical testing methods preferred.

Expected Salary Range: $52,000 - $60,000 depending on education, certifications, and experience.
