Job Description

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join a strategic project focused on the evolution of the Third-Party Data Ecosystem. This initiative aims to streamline the integration of new data sources and technologies, including Data Virtualization, APIs, and modern integration frameworks, enhancing data accessibility, consistency, and real-time availability across the organization.

The successful candidate will contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle, including solution design, development, testing, code reviews, deployment, and production support. Additionally, they will participate in functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), supporting defect investigation and resolution while ensuring compliance with quality, security, and operational standards.

This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy working in data-intensive environments, taking ownership of technical solutions, and contributing to the continuous evolution of business-critical systems.

Main Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performing backend solutions.
• Build, maintain, and optimize APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations.
• Translate business and technical requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Contribute to software architecture decisions, ensuring maintainability, reliability, and performance.
• Develop, test, and deploy software components following development and security standards.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes.
• Support application maintenance, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Business Analysts, and end users throughout testing phases, including UAT.
• Ensure compliance with quality, security, and governance guidelines.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Python development, including FastAPI, Flask, and RESTful API development.
• Solid understanding of microservices architectures and backend application design.
• Advanced SQL knowledge, including database design, performance optimization, and troubleshooting (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as PyTest or Unittest.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, including:• CI/CD
• Git workflows
• Code review practices
• Design patterns
• Clean Architecture
• Unit and Integration Testing
• Observability and Monitoring

• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, IBM Cloud, or similar environments.

• Experience with Data Virtualization technologies.
• Knowledge of Data Governance and Data Management concepts.
• Exposure to third-party data ecosystems and integration platforms.
• Previous experience in banking or financial services environments.
• Knowledge of BNP Paribas ecosystem and processes.

Languages

• English – Professional proficiency (mandatory).
• French – Basic knowledge is a plus.
