Benefits
Full description
Great BAs don’t just take a brief. They uncover the problem behind it, and they’re always looking for smarter ways to solve it.
Insurance is full of complex, interesting problems. Solving them takes curiosity, good judgement and someone willing to get close to the business, bring the right people together and keep asking questions until the real problem becomes clear.
At Ando, we’re also actively exploring how AI can change the way we work. For our BAs, that means being curious about where AI can accelerate analysis, improve quality, challenge thinking and remove low-value effort, while knowing that judgement, critical thinking and strong stakeholder relationships still matter.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.
We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our team and contribute to an important programme of work at Ando. This is a business-facing BA role, so you’ll spend your time engaging with people, understanding how things really work and bringing different perspectives together.
You’ll get beneath the surface of business problems, translate what you learn into clear requirements and work closely with stakeholders and technology teams to help us deliver the right outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
- Getting to the heart of business problems and understanding what is really happening, not simply what the current process says should be happening
- Facilitating workshops and conversations with stakeholders from across the business
- Translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories, process model changes and other analysis artefacts that are easy to understand and act on
- Working with technology teams to support solution design, including understanding how our systems, processes and data connect
- Using AI as part of your day-to-day BA toolkit to accelerate research and analysis, explore ideas, improve requirements and create clearer, more engaging outputs
- Experimenting with new AI-enabled ways of working, applying appropriate judgement to the outputs and sharing effective approaches with the wider team
- Taking ownership of problems and helping drive them through to a practical, well-considered outcome
About you
We’re less focused on how many years you’ve been a BA and more interested in how you approach the work. Whether you’re a few years into your BA career or have broader experience under your belt, you’ll likely bring:
- Hands-on Business Analysis experience in a project or delivery environment
- Natural curiosity and the confidence to engage with people at all levels, from frontline teams through to senior leaders
- A strong sense of ownership, with a willingness to investigate problems, challenge assumptions and help move them toward resolution
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI-assisted ways of working and an interest in how these tools can improve the way we deliver
- Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience in insurance or financial services would be valuable, but it isn’t essential. If you’re curious, capable and motivated to learn, we can teach you the insurance side.
Why Ando?
We’re not your typical insurer, and we never set out to be.
We’ve spent the last decade challenging the status quo and proving that insurance doesn’t have to be dull. We’re ambitious, growing fast, and full of people who’d rather build something good than sit through a meeting about building something good.
You’ll join a genuinely down-to-earth team who work hard, back each other up and have plenty of laughs along the way. You’ll also enjoy:
- Life and Income Protection Insurance
- A $500 annual wellbeing allowance to spend how you like
- Hybrid working, with 2 - 3 days in the office
- 20 days sick leave from day one
- Generous paid parental leave benefits for both the primary and secondary caregiver
- Flash Wynyard Quarter offices - complete with free access to a gym, sauna, reformer Pilates studio and yes, a golf simulator!
If you’re curious, driven and keen to make your mark, apply today! Applications close 11 November, but we’ll be reviewing as they come in so don't delay!
