Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Quality Engineer who provides technical support to the quality team and will be responsible for focusing primarily on Nonconformance, Corrective Actions, and Continuous Improvement Programs. Conduct evaluations on products, materials, components, parts, and processes at various stages of the production process. This is to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards. The position is responsible for evaluation of composite tooling, components, subassemblies, assemblies, and processes to support the manufacture of aerospace and space-based composite structures. Additionally, the Quality Assurance Engineer provides a range of expertise to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed. Participates in assuring high reliability and proper performance per product requirements.

Job Accountabilities:
- Provides technical and regulatory expertise through the review of specifications, drawings and customer requirements.
- Conducts evaluations of products, materials, and components on all types of standard and special products, to ensure alignment with product requirements and quality standards
- Evaluate processes to ensure alignment with product requirements and quality standards
- Provides detailed analysis, troubleshooting and evaluation of components, assemblies, and systems
- Creates risk assessments through quality database
- Maintains documentation records and data on tests performed
- Recommends quality solutions to complex problems and implements corrective actions
- Coordinates tests and trials to facilitate improvements and /or evaluations as needed.
- Performs internal audits based on established criteria and records the results.
- Read and follow work instructions.
- Performs analysis of composite tooling, components, subassemblies, and assemblies.
- Performs analysis of painted composite components, subassemblies, and assemblies.
- Perform dimensional measurements with instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height stands, indicators, gage pins, depth gage, protractor, and other gages as required.
- Use Microsoft office suite. Microsoft teams, Epicor and internal quality database.
- Read and determine conformity to process specifications.
- Assists with training/development of processes and actions created from nonconformance, corrective actions, or continuous improvement activities.
- Actively demonstrates all safety policies and procedures.
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Creates PFMEAs, control plans, process flow charts, MSAs, and other APQP functions
- Assists in AS9100, Nadcap AC7114 and AC7118, and customer audit compliance
- Assists in implementing Sabre compliance
- Assists in maintaining ECN / deviation process
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
Education: Requires an engineering degree or combination of relevant education and work experience may be substituted to meet educational requirements only. Years’ Experience: 3 years of relevant experience required.
Skills:
- Knowledge of Quality Engineering processes and regulatory requirements
- Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving
- Good knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
