Full description
Software Business Analyst to bridge global stakeholders and our engineering team—translating business needs into clear requirements, driving software process, and keeping delivery on track across distributed teams.
As part of our expanding global engineering team, you will play a key role in shaping and supporting applications used across multiple sites worldwide. You will work closely with a California-based team, including a night-shift group aligned with your time zone, enabling seamless collaboration and continuous progress.
We are looking for a business analyst who values teamwork and has experience working alongside development teams, gathering requirements, and helping move complex applications forward. This is not a message-passing role—success in this position requires building a genuine understanding of how our applications work and behave, so you can translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable requirements for engineers.
You will partner with stakeholders to understand their goals, document requests with the right level of detail, and help the development team deliver against them. You will also help facilitate our software process—tracking progress, surfacing and clearing blockers, and keeping work aligned. While this role is not primarily a coding role, a working understanding of modern application stacks (such as React and Tailwind on the frontend, and Node.js, Python, and RESTful APIs on the backend) will help you communicate effectively with engineers and ask the right questions. If you enjoy connecting business needs with high-quality software while supporting a globally distributed team, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders across global teams to understand business needs and translate them into clear, well-documented requirements
- Develop a working understanding of our applications and their behavior so you can accurately represent how they function to both stakeholders and the development team
- Gather, analyze, and document requests—asking clarifying questions, identifying gaps, and ensuring requirements are complete before they reach engineering
- Act as a bridge between stakeholders and developers, ensuring both sides share a common understanding of scope, priorities, and expected outcomes
- Help facilitate the software development process by tracking progress, maintaining visibility into work in flight, and keeping initiatives moving
- Proactively identify, surface, and help clear blockers so the team can maintain continuous progress
- Participate in regular communication with California-based teams, including overlap with night-shift operations, to ensure alignment and continuity
- Add value independently—analyzing problems, forming your own understanding, and contributing insight rather than simply relaying information
- Support planning sessions, team discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Help document application behavior, processes, and decisions to strengthen shared knowledge across the team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Information Systems, Computer Science), or equivalent practical experience in a business analyst or similar role
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders across distributed teams
- Ability to work with globally distributed teams, including participation in occasional off-hours meetings to maintain alignment across time zones
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate requests, identify gaps, and form independent conclusions
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with software development processes (e.g., Agile/Scrum) and tools for tracking work and progress is a plus
- General familiarity with modern web application concepts and stacks is a plus, but deep technical or coding expertise is not expected
