Job Description

Role Overview 

The Associate Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, preparing, analyzing, and reporting data to support decision-making across the organization. This role focuses on building reliable dashboards, executing data analyses, maintaining data quality, and supporting business stakeholders with insights. 

The analyst will work closely with data engineers, senior analysts, and business teams to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable analytics. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Data Collection & Preparation
  • Extract data from internal systems and SQL-based databases. 
  • Clean, transform, and validate datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency. 
  • Maintain documentation, data dictionaries, and metadata. 
  • Ensure data quality through profiling, auditing, and standardization. 
  • Analysis & Reporting 
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns. 
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. 
  • Support KPI development and automate recurring business reports. 
  • Perform ad hoc data analyses based on stakeholder requirements. 
  • SQL & Data Modeling 
  • Write SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation. 
  • Work with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL). 
  • Support data modeling efforts for reporting and self-service analytics. 
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering on dataset improvements and optimization. 
  • Business Stakeholder Collaboration 
  • Work with different departments to understand business questions and data needs. 
  • Assist in translating business requirements into analytical outputs. 
  • Present findings clearly to non‑technical and technical audiences. 
  • Provide analytical support for ongoing projects and initiatives. 
  • Monitoring & Data Quality Assurance 
  • Monitor dashboards and ensure data freshness and accuracy. 
  • Identify data quality issues and coordinate resolutions. 
  • Validate data pipelines and reporting processes. 
  • Support continuous improvement of analytical workflows. 
  • Governance & Compliance 
  • Follow internal governance standards for reporting and data usage. 
  • Ensure proper handling of sensitive and confidential data. 
  • Support compliance with data retention and access policies. 
  • Apply best practices for version control and documentation. 

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field. 
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, modeling). 
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skills. 
  • Understanding of data analysis, KPIs, and reporting concepts. 
  • Familiarity with data formats such as JSON, CSV, and Excel. 
  • Basic exposure to Python is an advantage. 
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills. 
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities. 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI. 
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts 
  • Exposure to data visualization best practices. 
  • Basic understanding of data modeling and warehousing. 
  • Experience with version control (Git) or DevOps environments. 
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum workflows. 
  • SSRS
