Role Overview

As a Lead Azure DevOps Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our infrastructure development, guiding our DevOps strategy and implementation within Azure environments. You will work closely with development teams to ensure efficient deployment and operation of applications, and lead the effort to automate and optimise our processes.

This role suits a dynamic, proactive leader who is passionate about using cloud technologies to improve operational effectiveness and deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines and processes to ensure smooth, reliable deployment of software products within Azure.
  • Lead development and operations teams in adopting best practices in Azure DevOps, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of the cloud infrastructure in line with industry standards and best practices.
  • Monitor and manage cloud resources to optimise performance, cost, and scalability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, building their DevOps capability.
  • Keep up with the latest trends and technologies in Azure and DevOps, and apply them to improve our processes and solutions.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Active SC clearance, or eligibility to obtain SC clearance.
  • Proven experience as a Lead DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in Azure environments.
  • Expertise in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar tools).
  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform, ARM templates).
  • Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of cloud security practices and compliance standards.
  • Excellent leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire others.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
