Java Software Engineer – Enterprise Data Applications

Location & In-Person Requirement

All positions require in-person work. Applicants must live within commuting distance of the listed work location to be considered. Some roles may allow limited telework, but regular on-site attendance is required. These are not fully remote positions.

Your next challenge

Build software that can handle serious data. Enhance a Spring Boot and Angular application processing terabytes each week, and help prepare it for Kubernetes deployment.

The mission

Support secure mission systems through software engineering, infrastructure integration, networking and dependable operational services.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain Java and Angular features

• Build REST services and optimize relational data access

• Support modernization and containerized deployments

• Create tests and maintain CI/CD workflows

• Contribute to architecture, code reviews and documentation

• Provide backup database administration and cross-train for continuity

What you’ll bring

• 7 years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.

• Java enterprise development with Spring Boot or similar frameworks

• Angular or comparable frontend frameworks

• REST APIs

• Oracle, PostgreSQL, MariaDB or similar relational databases

• Docker or Podman

• Kubernetes deployments

• Application modernization

• Technical documentation

Preferred qualifications

• Microservices

• Rancher, Amazon EKS, OpenShift or other CNCF-compliant Kubernetes platforms

• Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, volumes and Helm

• GitLab CI/CD

• Jira and Confluence

• Database operational support

• Automated testing and DevSecOps

• Large-volume enterprise data processing

Compensation and flexibility

$67.41–$87.57 per hour in approximate pay; employer 401(k) contribution is additional.

Compensation: The listed range reflects approximate hourly pay across our compensation models and excludes Ctrl+’s employer 401(k) contribution. Your hourly pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and the compensation model you select. The lower end reflects a no-bonus option with five weeks of PTO; the upper end reflects the Max Rate option without bonus or PTO.

Choose from three compensation models: Max Rate, With Bonus, or With Bonus and PTO. Offers include a projected five-year compensation comparison and a package comparison sheet. PTO and bonuses depend on the selected model and role eligibility.
