Full description

Fortinet is seeking a Staff Network Engineer to design, implement, and support our global enterprise and data center network infrastructure. This senior-level role is responsible for architecting scalable, secure, and highly available networking solutions that support critical business operations, data centers, labs, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, drive infrastructure projects, and mentor other engineers while ensuring the reliability and security of Fortinet's global network.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain enterprise, WAN, and data center network infrastructure.

Lead network architecture, expansion, and modernization projects for offices, labs, and data centers.

Maintain critical infrastructure through upgrades, hardware refreshes, and lifecycle management.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and lead root cause analysis for major incidents.

Develop and maintain network standards, documentation, and operational procedures.

Enhance network security by implementing best practices, hardening standards, and new technologies.

Collaborate with vendors and service providers for hardware, software, and connectivity solutions.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to network engineers and other IT staff.

Participate in an on-call rotation supporting global infrastructure outside normal business hours.

Skills & Requirements

Expert knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, and enterprise network design.

Strong experience with Fortinet products, firewalls, and network security technologies.

Experience supporting large-scale enterprise and/or data center networks.

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.

Knowledge of network automation and scripting is a plus.

Fortinet NSE 4 or above is a requirement for this position.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

10+ years of network engineering experience.

Proven experience designing and operating mission-critical network infrastructure.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Ability to install, rack, and cable networking equipment as needed.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $127,000-$155,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time, as well as a comprehensive leave program.

Wage ranges are based on various factors, including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program. Bonus eligibility is reviewed at the time of hire and annually at the Company’s discretion.
