About the role
You will lead a product area end-to-end by defining the roadmap, prioritizing engineering efforts, and specifying agentic features. You are responsible for setting KPIs, running experiments, and ensuring AI features meet quality, latency, and cost standards.
What they look for
Requirements
Candidates must have 4+ years of experience in product management or technical roles with a focus on B2C consumer products. Hands-on experience building and evaluating LLM-based features and strong technical proficiency in backend systems are required.
Full description
About Us
Luzia is Europe's fastest-growing AI consumer company, redefining conversational AI with cutting-edge LLMs and an unparalleled user experience. We're on a mission to make Luzia the go-to AI personal assistant for millions of users across Latin America. ⚡ 80M+ users worldwide in under 3 years 🌎 LatAm is 60%+ of our user base 🚀 Backed by Khosla Ventures, Prosus Ventures, A-Star, Monashees and more
The role
This is a hands-on role on an AI product. You will lead one of our product areas end to end: deciding what to build and what not to build, specifying agentic features with engineers, and putting them into production. There is no separate engineering manager layer, so you will own prioritisation for your area and understand how the system works, backend included, well enough to make the trade-offs yourself.
Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap for your product area, deciding what to build, what not to build and which KPIs it needs to move, using both qualitative insight and data.
- Work with Engineering, Design and Growth to turn AI capabilities into products that solve real user needs, specifying how a feature should behave, when it should call a tool or hand off to a person, and what it must never do.
- Set the team's priorities and make sure engineering effort goes to the work that matters most.
- Define how we know an AI feature is good enough to ship: the evaluation, the quality, latency and cost metrics, and the signal that tells us when a change has broken something.
- Write clear product requirements and documentation, and run experiments whose results change what we do next.
- Challenge assumptions, including the team's, and present your findings and recommendations to business leaders.
Requirements
- 4+ years building technology products, as a product manager or through an equivalent route such as product engineering or a technical founder role, including meaningful experience in a B2C consumer product.
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs, not only using them. You have shipped something where you chose the model, designed how it behaves, decided when it should call a tool or hand off to a human, and evaluated whether the output was good enough to release. You can explain what it cost, how you measured quality, and what you did when something changed underneath you.
- Technical enough to understand the full system behind a feature, backend included, and to hold your own in design and architecture discussions with engineers.
- A strong data mindset. You go to the data yourself, use the numbers in front of you to test a decision, and are comfortable with SQL and product analytics tools.
- You drive action rather than coordinate it. You are comfortable challenging ideas, pushing back with reasoning, and making a call when the information is incomplete.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and flexibly in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment, with a team spread across countries.
- Fluent English
Nice to have
- Background as a developer or technical lead before moving into product.
- Experience with conversational products, assistants or agents in a consumer setting.
- Experience with transactional or e-commerce products, including third-party API integrations.
- Solid eye for design and UX.
Working model
This is a hybrid role based in our Madrid office - you’ll combine working from our office and working from home
Equal opportunity
Luzia is an equal opportunity employer. We hire based on what you build and how you think.
