Full description

ROLE SUMMARY

The Project Controls Manager is a hands-on working manager who establishes and runs project controls on Data Centers fast-paced construction program. The role covers cost control, scheduling, change management, progress measurement and reporting across multiple concurrent contractors, and requires someone who can bring structure to complexity while construction is moving. This is not a report-maintenance role: the Manager anticipates problems, challenges information, coordinates across disciplines and helps the team make informed decisions quickly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and maintain project controls (cost, schedule, change, progress and reporting) in a rapidly evolving execution environment.
  • Lead budgeting, commitment tracking, forecasting and Estimate at Completion (EAC) across contracts and work packages.
  • Manage the change control process, including identification, evaluation, tracking and reporting of scope changes and cost exposure.
  • Develop, maintain and analyze integrated construction schedules in Primavera P6, including critical path analysis, schedule recovery and contractor schedule integration.
  • Measure and validate physical progress and reconcile it with cost and schedule performance.
  • Anticipate risks and issues, challenge contractor and internal information, and drive timely resolution.
  • Present project status, risks, challenges and required decisions clearly to senior management.
  • Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, Contracts, Procurement, Finance and contractor teams.
  • Work directly in the detail: resolve issues, deliver results and lead by example.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong background in large-scale, complex construction projects (data centers, power generation or other major capital projects preferred); understanding of field execution and construction priorities.
  • Strong working knowledge of cost control, budgeting, commitments, forecasting, change management, progress measurement and reporting.
  • Proven Primavera P6 experience developing, maintaining and managing integrated construction schedules, with understanding of critical paths, schedule recovery and contractor schedule integration.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing controls while construction is under way, balancing accuracy with urgency.
  • Ability to communicate status, risks and decisions to senior management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Data center construction experience.
  • Omega 365 experience (cost management, commitments, forecasting and reporting).

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Adaptability and sound judgment amid ambiguity, changing priorities and incomplete information
  • Hands-on leadership; willing to roll up sleeves
  • Collaboration and strong interpersonal skills
  • Energy, ownership and follow-through under pressure
  • Practical, solutions-oriented mindset

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are not necessarily seeking someone from a perfectly structured corporate environment. The ideal candidate has operated successfully in challenging project environments and knows how to establish controls while construction is moving. Demonstrated characteristics and technical capability take precedence over years of experience or job titles.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Fast-paced construction program with aggressive schedules, rapidly evolving priorities and multiple contractors working concurrently. Hands-on, site-engaged role.
