Senior Java Engineer (LATAM)

Job Description:

Aubrant Digital is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join our growing team and design, develop, and support scalable, high-performance back-end systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver top-quality software solutions with global impact. This hands-on contributor will focus primarily on back-end development (approximately 90%), building modern, cloud-based architectures using Java 21, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and Kafka, and contributing to innovative, high-impact projects.

Must-Have Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java software development, with strong expertise in Java 21 and modern Spring Boot frameworks.
• Proven experience designing and building back-end applications, RESTful APIs, and enterprise-level services using Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including managing and running applications in containerized environments.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (MS SQL, MySQL, or similar).
• Experience working with enterprise cloud technologies (Azure and/or AWS).
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar) to support coding, testing, and delivery.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in both English and Spanish (minimum 85%).
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.

Should-Have Requirements

• Experience with Kafka for event streaming and messaging.
• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services beyond baseline familiarity (e.g., AKS, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL database technologies.
• Experience providing technical guidance and mentorship to other developers.
• Experience participating in technical design and architecture discussions.

Could-Have / Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Experience with DataDog for monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Experience with Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.
