The Siemens Electrification and Automation business provides power distribution systems and service solutions that help customers improve the reliability, safety, and performance of their electrical infrastructure.

We are looking for a Project Manager, Customer Services to join our Project Management Office. In this customer-facing role, you will lead service projects from initiation through final closeout while managing safety, scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, and customer expectations.

You will work across a matrixed organization and coordinate with engineering, field service, commercial, finance, vendors, contractors, and customers. This position may be performed remotely or based in Wendell, North Carolina, with travel required approximately 10% to 25% annually.

You’ll make a difference by:

  • Directing all phases of assigned service projects from initiation through completion, including project planning, execution, monitoring, closeout, and lessons learned.
  • Managing project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, resources, revenue forecasting, and overall performance while developing recovery plans when projects are not meeting expectations.
  • Identifying project risks, including potential safety risks, and developing mitigation strategies that support the safe and successful completion of service activities.
  • Communicating project milestones, field activities, financial status, risks, changes, and performance updates to customers, project teams, leadership, finance partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinating internal and external resources, including engineering teams, field service personnel, vendors, suppliers, consultants, and contractors, to support project requirements and site schedules.
  • Managing contractual requirements, change orders, claims processes, supplier agreements, requests for quotation, and customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Project and system experience may include:

  • Installation, commissioning, maintenance outage testing, electrical retrofits, and electrical system emergency response or disaster recovery.
  • Turnkey, design-build, and engineer-procure-construct projects.
  • Power system studies and field service projects involving internal teams and third-party suppliers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Low-voltage and medium-voltage air-insulated switchgear, medium-voltage gas-insulated switchgear, switches, panelboards, and automatic transfer switches.
  • Transformers, motor control centers, medium-voltage contactors, integrated electrical house systems, cable systems, busways, connectors, and supporting systems.
  • Solar photovoltaic systems, inverters, battery systems, and related electrical infrastructure.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years direct project management experience supporting service projects involving low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear.
  • 3+ years experience working in field service operations or a field service environment, such as a field service technician, engineer, project manager, or project specialist.
  • Demonstrated experience with low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% to 25% annually.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional certification. If not currently certified, ability to obtain the certification within one year of employment.
  • Project management experience in electrical switchgear field service, engineer-procure-construct projects, construction, energy, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams that include engineering, field service, commercial, finance, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Experience interpreting project contracts and managing change orders, claims, liquidated damages, specifications, supplier scope, schedules, and budgets.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project to develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules.

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
