About the role
Hipcamp is looking for two Senior Product Managers to join our product team across the two core areas of our marketplace: the camper experience, how millions of people discover and book trips outside, and the host experience, how landowners open their land to camping and earn from it. You'll lead a dedicated pod of engineering, design, and data, set the roadmap for your area, and be accountable for the results. This is a high-ownership role for a PM who stays close to users, makes decisions with data, and ships fast with AI as part of how they work.
What you'll do
- Own the roadmap for your area of the marketplace: set priorities aligned with company strategy, make the tradeoffs and deliver results.
- Lead a cross-functional pod of engineers, a designer and a data partner: run planning, set backlog priorities and keep the team focused and unblocked.
- Build a deep understanding of campers or hosts through regular conversations, support tickets, reviews and research, and turn those insights into product decisions.
- Set the goals and metrics for your area, and work with your data partner to run experiments, read the results and decide what to build next.
- Work AI-first across everything you do: research, writing, data analysis, prototyping and improving how the team works. Bring the same thinking to the product, from trip discovery for campers to pricing and listing tools for hosts.
- Partner with Marketing, Growth, Host Success, Supply Operations and Support to ship changes that move the business.
- Collaborate with other product managers so changes on one side of the marketplace strengthen the other.
About you
- 5+ years of product management experience, ideally at a consumer or marketplace company.
- Experience at a startup or scale-up where you owned a product area end to end without a large PM organization around you.
- Strong product sense and judgment: you turn user needs and data into clear decisions about what to build and why.
- A track record of shipping with engineering and design and measuring the impact.
- Fluency with experimentation and funnel metrics (conversion, activation, retention), and comfort pulling your own data
- AI-native: tools like Claude and ChatGPT are part of how you research, write, analyze, prototype and get work done every day, and you keep finding new ways to use them.
- Hungry to grow: you learn fast, take feedback well, stay steady when priorities shift and raise problems early.
- A clear, concise communicator in writing and in person, comfortable working with a distributed team.
- Passion for getting more people outside.
Nice to have
- Experience with two-sided marketplaces: supply and demand dynamics, pricing, or trust and safety.
- Background in travel, outdoor or hospitality products.
