This position may be located at either our Jangan, Korea or Munmak, Korea site and will be part of the Liquid Systems organization.
The manager will lead a team of global engineers responsible for sustaining engineering activities across manufacturing sites in Korea, and Taiwan. The team provides technical leadership for released products, drives product and process improvements, resolves field and manufacturing issues, supports quality and reliability initiatives, and helps ensure continuity of supply for Entegris' portfolio of high-purity fluid handling and liquid packaging products supporting the semiconductor industry.
This role requires a strong technical leader with demonstrated experience managing geographically dispersed engineering teams and leading cross-functional efforts involving Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Product Management, and New Product Development organizations.
In this role you will:
Provide technical and organizational leadership for all global sustaining engineering activities related to released products within the Fluid Handling and Liquid Packaging SBUs. Establish priorities, develop technical talent, and drive consistent execution of sustaining engineering processes across global manufacturing locations. Serve as the primary engineering escalation point for product performance, reliability, quality, cost improvement, and continuity-of-supply initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a global team of sustaining engineers located across Korea, and Taiwan.
- Own the technical support strategy for released products throughout their lifecycle.
- Drive structured root cause investigations and corrective actions related to customer complaints, field failures, quality concerns, and manufacturing issues.
- Partner with global manufacturing sites to improve product yield, quality, throughput, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Lead product improvement initiatives focused on performance, reliability, cost reduction, and manufacturability.
- Support business continuity by identifying and mitigating product, process, supplier, and manufacturing risks.
- Provide engineering leadership for product transfers, alternate-source qualifications, supplier changes, and manufacturing process improvements.
- Lead engineering assessments related to product obsolescence, material changes, regulatory requirements, and end-of-life management.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Quality organizations to support customer engagements, technical problem resolution, and product stewardship activities.
- Support manufacturing plants during audits, customer visits, qualification activities, and significant production challenges.
- Ensure appropriate engineering support for change-control activities, including Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
- Partner with New Product Development teams to incorporate lessons learned from manufacturing, customers, and field performance into future product designs.
- Develop and manage sustaining engineering metrics, project portfolios, staffing plans, budgets, and resource priorities.
- Drive standardization, knowledge sharing, and adoption of best practices across the global engineering organization.
- Build and maintain a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
- Proven technical and organizational leadership experience within a global engineering environment.
- Demonstrated success leading sustaining engineering, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or operations engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause investigation skills using structured methodologies.
- Experience supporting released products through quality, reliability, manufacturing, and customer-facing challenges.
- Ability to lead geographically distributed teams and influence stakeholders across functions and regions.
- Strong background in product lifecycle management, change management, and sustaining engineering processes.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience supporting products used in highly controlled and quality-sensitive industries is preferred.
- Experience with high-purity fluid handling, polymer components, semiconductor consumables, packaging, or related technologies is preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while balancing immediate business needs with long-term strategic objectives.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to align technical decisions with organizational goals.
- Demonstrated commitment to coaching, mentoring, and developing engineering talent.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience supporting manufacturing, product development, product engineering, or sustaining engineering activities.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing technical teams.
- Experience leading global or multi-site engineering organizations is preferred.
- Strong English communication skills; Korean language proficiency is preferred.
