Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Database Engineer with around 6+ years of experience in PostgreSQL database development, design, data modeling, and performance optimization. The candidate should have hands-on experience in designing database schemas, developing complex SQL queries, optimizing database performance, and ensuring data integrity and consistency. The role involves collaborating with application developers and architects to build efficient, scalable, and reliable database solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop PostgreSQL database schemas based on business and application requirements.
  • Perform data modeling, database design, normalization, and database remodeling.
  • Develop and maintain tables, relationships, constraints, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
  • Write, analyze, and optimize complex SQL queries and PL/pgSQL functions.
  • Perform database performance tuning, indexing, and query execution plan analysis.
  • Review and improve existing database structures, queries, and data access patterns.
  • Implement database schema changes and version control using Liquibase or Flyway.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and transactional reliability.
  • Support database migration, data transformation, and modernization initiatives.
  • Work closely with Java application developers and architects to optimize database integration.
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues and support production performance improvements.
  • Follow database engineering standards, best practices, and documentation guidelines.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Around 6+ years of experience in database development or database engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Good knowledge of SQL, PL/pgSQL, joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.
  • Experience in database design, data modeling, normalization, and schema remodeling.
  • Good understanding of indexes, partitioning, constraints, and database optimization.
  • Experience with query tuning using EXPLAIN and EXPLAIN ANALYZE.
  • Understanding of transactions, locking, concurrency, and isolation levels.
  • Experience with database migration and schema management tools such as Liquibase or Flyway.
  • Good understanding of relational database concepts and data integrity.
  • Familiarity with Linux and basic database administration.

Job Location & Schedule 

  • This is an onsite position based at Logile's Bhubaneswar Office. 
  • Candidates should be willing to work with a few hours of overlap with the US business hours to support collaboration with global teams.
