Job Description

This position is part of our new SCAYLE Studios business, an AI-powered B2B product that helps fashion and lifestyle brands create and scale high-quality content more efficiently. Born from ABOUT YOU’s own experience with AI-driven content production, SCAYLE Studios is now being developed into a scalable product for brands and retailers worldwide.

As part of the team, you’ll join at an early stage and have the opportunity to directly shape the product, technology, and way of working as we scale the business.

• Own features across the full stack from initial concept to production - taking full responsibility for quality, tests, performance, and reliability without handoffs
• Build core product features while actively shaping our cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), deployment tooling, and CI/CD environments.
• Scale our generation and media processing pipelines as the platform grows, balancing throughput, memory efficiency, and cost per processed asset
• Architect long-running, asynchronous workflows to ensure maximum resilience (queues, retries, idempotency, rate limits)
• Build the monitoring, logging, and tracing needed to diagnose performance bottlenecks and resolve issues quickly
• Embrace agentic engineering by using AI-powered tools and agents throughout the development lifecycle - from exploring and implementing solutions to testing, debugging, and improving code

Qualifications

• Proven track record shipping web products end-to-end
• Deep hands-on experience building, scaling, and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications across both sides of the stack
• Strong background in asynchronous systems (queues, retries, rate limits, webhooks) and high-throughput data/media processing (memory efficiency, large files)
• Experience owning what you build in production - cloud environment, deployment, monitoring, incident response, and pragmatic Infrastructure as Code
• A strong interest in AI-assisted and agentic software development, with a willingness to continuously explore new tools and ways of working
• Solid security instincts (least privilege, secrets handling, dependency hygiene) with a focus on minimizing operational burden for a small team.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Generative AI orchestration, cloud cost engineering, or image/media-heavy applications
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools, coding agents, or agentic engineering workflows
• Experience running platform migrations or public work samples
