Full description

Sr. Product Manager, Airspace Monitoring Service

Hidden Level is building the future of airspace awareness. Our mission is to make the unseen visible by providing persistent, actionable awareness of the low-altitude airspace around critical infrastructure, borders, military installations, airports, major events, and communities.

Our technology brings together multiple sensing modalities and airspace data sources to detect and track cooperative and non-cooperative aircraft and UAS. Through our Airspace Monitoring Service (AMS), we transform that data into an operational picture that can be consumed directly through Hidden Level applications or integrated into the command-and-control systems our customers already use.

Position Overview:

As we expand, we are seeking a Sr. Product Manager, Airspace Monitoring Service (AMS) to own and advance the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for one of Hidden Level's core offerings.

This role sits at the intersection of our customers, engineering teams, operations, and business. The Sr. Product Manager will develop a deep understanding of customer missions and workflows, translate those needs into scalable product capabilities, prioritize what we build and why, and work closely with cross-functional teams to bring those capabilities to market.

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable talking with an operator about how they use airspace data, working with engineers to define requirements and tradeoffs, analyzing product usage and performance, and communicating product strategy to company leadership.

Location:

This position may be based onsite or in a hybrid capacity at our Syracuse, NY office. Remote work may also be considered based on candidate location and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the AMS Product Strategy and Roadmap
  • Develop and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AMS based on customer needs, market opportunities, company strategy, and technical capabilities.
  • Define the problems we are solving, desired customer outcomes, and measures of success before determining specific product solutions.
  • Prioritize product investments based on customer value, mission impact, technical feasibility, business value, and strategic differentiation.
  • Maintain alignment between near-term customer commitments and the longer-term development of a scalable product.
  • Represent the Customer and the Mission
  • Develop a deep understanding of how defense, homeland security, public safety, and commercial customers use airspace awareness to support operational decisions.
  • Spend time with customers and end users observing workflows, gathering feedback, and identifying unmet needs.
  • Translate customer and operational requirements into clear product requirements and use cases for engineering teams.
  • Distinguish between individual customer requests and capabilities that should become part of the broader AMS product.
  • Drive Product Development
  • Partner closely with Engineering Operations, Service, Deployment, Growth, and Customer Success throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Define requirements, priorities, acceptance criteria, and desired outcomes for new capabilities.
  • Make informed product tradeoffs when customer needs, technical constraints, schedule, and business priorities compete.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and decisions required to keep product development moving.
  • Ensure teams understand not only what is being built, but why it matters to the customer.
  • Measure Product Performance and Adoption
  • Establish and monitor product metrics related to usage, adoption, performance, reliability, and customer outcomes.
  • Use operational data, customer feedback, and product analytics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop feedback loops between deployed systems, customers, and product development.
  • Evaluate whether delivered capabilities are solving the intended customer problem and adjust the roadmap accordingly.
  • Support Product Introduction and Growth
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success to clearly communicate AMS capabilities, limitations, differentiation, and roadmap.
  • Support customer demonstrations, pilots, proposals, RFIs/RFPs, and strategic engagements where product expertise is required.
  • Help establish clear success criteria for pilots and deployments and translate successful customer outcomes into repeatable product offerings.
  • Support product releases, customer-facing documentation, training, and internal enablement.
  • Monitor competitive offerings, emerging technologies, regulations, and changes in the UAS and airspace-awareness market.
  • Interoperability and Ecosystem
  • Help define how AMS integrates with customer C2 systems, third-party sensors, APIs, and other elements of the broader airspace-awareness ecosystem.
  • Work with technical teams and customers to ensure interoperability is considered as a core product requirement rather than an afterthought.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships and integrations that increase the operational value of AMS.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Product Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including 3+ years in product management, technical product management, or a closely related role.
  • Demonstrated experience owning or materially contributing to the strategy and roadmap of a complex technical product.
  • Ability to translate customer problems and operational workflows into clear product requirements and priorities.
  • Experience working closely with software and/or hardware engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to use data and customer feedback to make product decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, operators, customers, and executives.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity, making tradeoffs, and taking ownership of outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10–20% to support customers, deployments, exercises, and other product activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with B2B SaaS, enterprise software, defense technology, public safety technology, or other mission-critical products.
  • Experience with geospatial applications, command-and-control systems, sensor data, APIs, data fusion, or real-time operational software.
  • Familiarity with radar, RF sensing, Remote ID, ADS-B, UAS, counter-UAS, or airspace-management technologies.
  • Experience working with Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, federal, state, or local government customers.
  • Experience taking complex technical capabilities from early deployment through broader product adoption and scale.
  • Experience with Agile software development and modern product-management practices.
