Full description

We are looking for a Network Engineer to support the IT infrastructure of a major convenience store chain. The position covers network design and construction, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement proposals, including leading the construction of new network environments and resolving technical issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and construct various network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Conduct technical reviews, organize requirements, and respond to design and construction for new communication requirements.
  • Maintain and manage the network environment, including configuration changes, troubleshooting, root cause investigation, and performance analysis.
  • Perform version upgrades and lifecycle management of network equipment.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations, make improvement proposals, and provide technical support based on customer requirements.
  • Coordinate technically with vendors and customers.
  • Create various documents, such as design specifications, operation procedures, and construction materials.

Requirements

The skills and experience we are looking for:

  • Basic knowledge of enterprise networks.
  • Experience in designing and building L2 switches, L3 switches, and routers.
  • Experience in designing and building firewalls.
  • Experience in creating technical documents such as design specifications and construction procedure manuals.
  • Japanese: Fluent, with the ability to communicate complex business issues accurately and smoothly both orally and in writing.
  • English: Conversational and basic reading and writing level, with the ability to hold everyday conversations, read and write simple texts, and understand and respond to basic business communications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in operating L2SW, L3SW, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Experience in handling version upgrades of network equipment or security equipment.
  • Experience in building or operating load balancers such as F5 BIG-IP and Citrix ADC.
  • Experience in building or operating VPN, Proxy, and Reverse Proxy environments.
  • Experience in packet analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in creating technical proposals and improvement proposals.
