We're hiring an Intermediate Test Automation QA Engineer to help us get there.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You'll own quality across EROAD's connected devices, from physical hardware to the cloud services behind them.

  • Test physical devices such as telematics units, cameras and adapters alongside their firmware and hardware integrations
  • Build and maintain automated tests spanning component, integration, contract, performance and end-to-end coverage
  • Write supporting automation scripts to extend and strengthen test tooling
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines so quality gates run with every build
  • Work hands-on in Linux environments to test and troubleshoot connected devices
  • Validate end-to-end workflows across hardware, mobile apps and cloud-integrated services
  • Investigate and diagnose defects across the hardware-software stack
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional agile team, reporting to the Chapter Lead

WHAT YOU NEED

We're after someone with hands-on depth across both embedded testing and modern automation practice.

  • Proven test automation experience in Java, with Kotlin experience a strong complement or substitute where framework depth is clear
  • Solid background in embedded systems, connected devices and hardware-software integration testing
  • Strong understanding of serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, RS-232, RS-485, USB CDC and CAN
  • Comfortable working in Linux/Ubuntu environments for device testing and troubleshooting
  • Experience building BDD-based test automation with Cucumber, plus JUnit and TestNG
  • Practical knowledge of CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
  • Skilled in Python and Bash scripting for test automation and tooling

Working understanding of Azure and/or AWS for cloud-integrated device solutions

  • Exposure to AI-assisted development or testing tools to speed up automation and defect investigation
  • Able to read hardware schematics or familiar with observability tools like Datadog or Grafana is a bonus
